🐝🚍 Sweeping upgrades to Greater Manchester’s Bee Network bus services are set to benefit around 740,000 people and support economic growth. Thirty-six changes, announced by Mayor Andy Burnham, include night buses in every borough, new routes and more frequent services linking key employment and leisure sites such as Manchester Airport, Trafford Centre and MediaCity. The plans will add 2.5 million kilometres to the network, building on growth that has already outpaced the national average. More than half of those benefiting live in deprived areas. The improvements follow the region’s move to bring buses under local control, enabling better connections, expanded access to jobs and stronger support for the night-time economy. Subject to approval, the changes are due from 2026/27.
