Process philosphy and process theology are, in fact, often connected to the "eastern" philosophical tradition (I'm not a fan of the eastern-western -distinction but perhaps I won't get into it here haha). Especially Buddhism comes up a lot!

@ruemaleficent You didn't come across like that at all, don't worry. I do have a lot of understanding and empathy for people who have negative feelings about religions, and often times I have them as well. It's always a pleasure to discuss these topics.

@ruemaleficent This is exactly why philosophy of religion interests me! It offers several theories on how to approach these questions (the question of evidence, or what to think about the pluralism of interpretations etc.)

@ruemaleficent I 100% understand where you are coming from! Though I would like to add, that it seems to me that it does not require any religious faith to do horrible things. I would argue most of the harm done in the world today is done for profit and for the blind belief in endless economic growth.

@ruemaleficent No worries, I'm not particularly religious myself, more than that I'm interested in theology and religions. But we do differ in the sense that I wouldn't call myself anti-religious either, because despite all the horrible things that has been done "in the name of religion", I think religions can also do good, resolve issues and promote peace & justice. For example, I've recently got a bit into ecotheology and found out about the huge effort some religious communities put into helping the environment, and I'm also forever impressed by all the peace work and conflict resolution that has been done and is done by religious communities and religious people. But I do have a very "safe" relationship with religion, since I live in a rather secular country (Finland), and didn't have a religious upbringing. It gives me the priviledge to approach these topics from this point of view. Anyway, happy to give you a follow and find out more about your thoughts on these matters!
