Hi all. I've had this account for a while but never introduced myself. I am from Michigan. I love all music. Metal is part of me. I have gaps to fill for lost years. I tend to spend time with albums and let them grow over multiple listens. Outside music, I enjoy board games, podcasts, books, travel & life with cats and grown kids.I enjoy hobbies that help make life richer and less hectic. Not a fan of current president. A friend hosted some games this morning. The other table played Andromeda's Edge while ours played Brass Birmingham. It was a learning game for me. For a lot of the game I was leading because I was following people's suggestions. I came 2nd and the 4 scores were tight. BB is a very complex game but I can see why it is popular. I need to play it a few more times soon. But FSM, who (else) starts #boardgames at 8:00 AM on a Saturday?

DiceQuest arrived so of course me and teens have been playing the last couple days. This time I just barely managed to lead the final adventure giving me a 2 point lead for the win. #boardgames #gaming #DiceQuest #CrowdFunding

Royal Society of Archeology (2025) & 1923: Cotton Club (2021) Unser Besuch hatte sich beide Spiele gewünscht und damit keine schlechte Wahl getroffen. Je häufiger ich RSoA spiele, desto besser gefällt es mir. Sehr beige, sehr komplex obwohl man "eigentlich" nur 4 Aktionsfelder hat und 15 Aktionen. Läuft ungerechtfertigt scheinbar unterm Radar. Cotton Club ist zwar sehr glückslastig, aber ebenso angenehm und kurz zu spielen, macht einfach Spaß. Schöner Abend. 🥰 #brettspiele #boardgames

Card-driven rondel works amazingly well giving difficult choices each time. Faiyum. Similar to Concordia but it focuses on hand management as where you discard your cards after playing them may mean you don’t get to see that card again for a long time. Currently in the process of moving servers, so here's a new #introduction I'm a full-stack developer working primarily with #python and #vue3 both at work and on hobby projects. I also write serial fiction (through a pseudonym, since there's a children's author who shares my name), play #videogames, play and design #boardgames, am relearning #piano, and otherwise spend my time on my family.

Last night's #boardgames included Lords of Waterdeep. I'd long been put off this as it looked complicated, but it's really not: place your agent figures, take resources, cash them in to complete quests and get points. I came second out of four, thanks in part to a lucky quest card that exactly matched the rare purple resources I'd collected for no good reason other than they might come in handy. Overall, an efficiency exercise with some fun interaction. Not overly taxing, so would play again.
