July in #boardgames was quite diverse: some party games, some more complex games, some 2 player games, and some new games that I definitely have to spend more time with. Overall a fun month (with one exception).

Der letzte Monat war wieder sehr abwechslungsreich. Und da waren einige schöne Dinge dabei. Mir macht das Labyrinth Chronicles viel Spaß, allerdings ist die deutsche Übersetzung echt verbesserbar. Pandemie Die Heilung mal wieder auf den Tisch gepackt und finde es immer noch sooo gut. Zum Glück haben wir die Erweiterung. Auch La Boca hat nichts von seinem Charme verloren. Und der Große Wurf ist immer noch toll. #BrettSpiele #BoardGames #j2s #BGStats

A Gest of Robin Hood COIN series wargame. It’s simple and has clever ideas around turn order and action selection. As Robin Hood, you feel on the run, just one step ahead of the law. Overall, I enjoyed it, though the gameplay was incremental—there were no flashy, surprising moves, just a steady inching forward. Still, it evoked childhood memories of watching Robin of Sherwood on the telly on Sunday afternoons. #boardgames

I couldn't look away from this remarkable exhibit at the Young V&A in London: a playset made of bricks and cement compound from about ninety years ago. As a child I would have enjoyed opening this up and digging in. As a game designer I would want to devise a way for the bricks to be reusable. And as an adult I would fear the noxious compounds possibly lurking inside that tube of "cement". #history #boardgames #games
