this is a new tiny zine i've drawing these last days, thanks to a burst of motivation! it's called "pocket exhibit" and it's an experiment in mixing line drawing (digital) and linocut stamps. I'm happy with the result and i've had a lot of fun drawing all these characters! next step now will be to print another dozen or so of these :) #illustration #CreativeToots #printmaking #MastoArt #zines

For Annalise Gratovich, family history informs a printmaking practice that explores deeply personal and even spiritual links to land, home, and a sense of belonging. https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2026/06/annalise-gratovich-woodcut-printmaking-ukraine-memory/ #printmaking #art #woodcut #Ukraine

Happy birthday to #philosopher Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) who, amongst other things speculated about a teapot orbiting in space. This lino block print of Russell’s Teapot is part of my series of Imaginary Friends of Science of charismatic thought experiments. In this case, the alledged china teapot, in orbit between Earth and Mars is an analogy by philosopher Bertrand Russell to make the case that the 🧵 ⠀ https://minouette.etsy.com/listing/919881895 #linocut #printmaking #SciArt #RussellsTeapot #philosophy

Happy birthday to French mathematician, physicist and philosopher Marie-Sophie Germain (1776 – 1831), known as Sophie. She taught herself mathematics using books in her father’s library and by corresponding with leading mathematicians of her day, including Lagrange, Legendre and Gauss, initially using the pseudonym Monsieur LeBlanc. Her work on elasticity theory won her the grand prize from the Paris Academy of Sciences. 🧵 #linocut #printmaking #sciart #mathematician #womenInSTEM #histsci

What a fun afternoon we had yesterday at Brook Arts Hub in #StratforduponAvon learning the basics of #gelplateprinting. Since I sold my etching press I've been looking for an alternative printmaking method which can easily be done from a small home studio. Perhaps the playful and experimental process of #gelliprinting is the answer? We shall see. Thanks to Stephanie for guiding us! #art #workshop #printmaking

@snailrageprints@metroholografix.ca it was a neat project and I learned some things: - I don’t particularly like the destruction inherent in the reduction process. I know, I know, all creation is destruction, but I’d rather come out with blocks I could print again and again. -Getting precise registration (aligning the paper with the printing block) with otherwise delightfully wispy deckled paper edges is an incredible challenge

  • these color inks are not quite as opaque as I was led to believe, I had to do some additional mixing to get the pure green (shown here) to look green at all upon the red in the combined print. (It first came out looking black) #printMaking #reductionLinocut #reliefPrint #humanArt

🚀 #grafiikka #printmaking

Day 11 #ArtAdventCalendar: Happy birthday to trailblazing US #astronomer Annie Jump Cannon (1863 – 1941), here with her stellar classification system which sorted stars based on spectral types, revealing their temperature from hot blue to cool red stars: O,B,A, F, G, K & M. Named the Harvard Classification after the university, her tremendous contribution was less visible. 🧵 #printmaking #womenInSTEM #histsci #DisabledInSTEM #linocut #mastoArt
