Heat will once again build across the UK this weekend before the fifth widespread heatwave of the year is likely to be declared next week. From Sunday and into next week, temperatures could exceed 30C in south-east England. Yellow heat health alerts have been issued for most of England until Tuesday, warning of impacts for health and social care services and an increased risk to life for vulnerable people. https://www.bbc.com/weather/articles/cgr7d28vvpno #UK #globalHeating #ClimateCatastrophe #ClimateChange #weather #Environment #DoSomething

‘Stop all outdoor activities’: #SouthKorea records its highest ever temperature More than 20 localities in South Korea were under emergency #heatwave alerts on Sunday -- a new warning category introduced this year to better address rising temperatures. An emergency alert is issued when areas experiencing a heatwave are forecast to hit perceived temperatures of 38C or an actual temperature of 39C for the day. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/aug/03/south-korea-highest-temperature #climate #climatechange #globalheating #globalwarming

South Korea have warned people to “stop outdoor activities” as a record breaking heatwave continues to grip the Peninsula. Temperatures have exceeded 40°C for 5 days straight with a new all time record of 42.5°C recorded yesterday. Yet another area seeing record heat. #SouthKorea #globalHeating #ClimateCatastrophe #ClimateChange #weather #Environment #DoSomething

What people don't understand is that these fires, they destroy the only defense we have against the out of control global warming. millions, if not billions of trees were lost just in the past few weeks and no amount of plantation will bring them back. It will take years and decades for those forests to return to the condition they were before the fire and in the mean time, we keep increasing our carbon emission for useless crap like over consumption, war, useless technology with pre-planned obsolescence and obsession with global tourism. We can't change our way of life, majority of people are just too dumb to be willing to sacrifice their comfort and "do as usual" lifestyle to TRY slowing down this existential treat to our lives. We may just give up fighting and enjoy it while it lasts! #ForestFires #TomorrowIsTooLate #ClimateCrisis #DoSomething #GlobalHeating #ClimateCatastrophe #ClimateChange #weather #Pessimism #Environment #DoSomething

Every single second, the world hands $6,000 to the fossil fuel industry in subsidies. That’s $5 TRILLION every year. Renewables? Barely a fraction of that. We are literally paying to cook our own planet. When does this madness stop? #GlobalHeating greatly increases #wildfire risk. That‘s been established scientifically for a long time (see IPCC reports) but has now been shown again for the current fires 🔥 in France and Spain in a new World Weather Attribution study. https://www.worldweatherattribution.org/climate-change-increases-likelihood-of-compounding-drivers-of-severe-wildfire-conditions-in-france-and-spain/

What they want you to believe: Wildfires = Canada mismanagement. What the data says: 335 million hectares burned globally in 2025. 3,955 fires in Canada in 2026 alone, 1,092,095 hectares in non-EU Europe, Spain, France, USA, South Africa, Australia. This is climate, not a country. This is our future burning in front of our eyes. #ForestFire #Canada #globalHeating #ClimateCatastrophe #ClimateChange #weather #Environment #DoSomething

3 million years ago, greenhouse gas was lower (at 360ppm). Temperatures were warmer, and sea levels were 20 meters higher. Professor Gavin Foster: “The reason we don’t see #Pliocene-like temperatures and sea-levels yet today is because it takes a while for Earth’s @climate@a.gup.pe to fully equilibrate (catch up) to higher CO2 levels and, because of human emissions, CO2 levels are still climbing.” Julia Steinberger: https://www.resilience.org/stories/2020-07-15/cogs-in-the-climate-machine/ #massExtinction #climate #globalHeating #climateBreakdown

Dr. Emily Judd: "The impact of anthropogenic climate change is (and will continue to be) determined by the rate of change (meaning how quickly CO2 and temperature change) much more than the absolute temperatures, themselves." cited by @hausfath@fediscience.org there: https://www.theclimatebrink.com/p/climate-skeptics-have-new-favorite 🧵 #massExtinction #massExtinctions #climate #climateChange #globalHeating #climateBreakdown #climateHeating #quotes #research #study #CO2 #emissions

"Closely spaced or overlapping El Niño events create cumulative cloud suppression. Each El Niño phase actively reduces low-level stratocumulus and trade-wind cumulus clouds over vast tropical and subtropical ocean areas as part of the Bjerknes feedback loop. When the next El Niño develops before full cloud recovery during intervening La Niña or neutral conditions, the albedo loss becomes progressively more persistent, producing the observed multi-decadal linear decline. […] Major El Niño periods (especially 2015–16 and 2023–24) coincide with accelerated albedo drops and incomplete recoveries." Ford, Gillon (2026). Greenhouse forcing: "We find that the likelihood of the occurrence of climate regime shifts significantly increases in the context of super El Niño events due to their remarkable climate perturbations. This higher probability is detected across various climate elements, such as surface air temperature, sea surface temperature, and surface soil moisture. In addition, we suggest that this boost effect of super El Niño events on climate regime shifts will be greatly amplified under future greenhouse warming." Xue, A., Geng, X., Jin, FF. et al. (2025). Temperatures in Basra, Iraq hit 48°C today. Next 4 day period will see 48°C every day during which temps will not go below 32°C. This is a lethal heatwave driven by climate change. #globalHeating #iraq #ClimateCatastrophe #ClimateChange #weather #Environment #DoSomething

Another Heatwave is coming to Europe in the next 10-14 days. It is expected to break records set in June and nearly half of England could see temperatures above 40°C. In mainland Europe they are expected to hit 48°C or even 50°C. This heatwave will hit in the very hottest part of the year at the end of July to early August. #globalHeating #Europe #ClimateCatastrophe #ClimateChange #weather #Environment #DoSomething
