#prediction #news, or news that we can all see building up to, well, something we’ll have to deal with :

  • #McConnell is a good example of #politics, a bold new legal territory to explore, as it unfolds; current bets are on the news falling on or around august 4th.
  • as #krasnov’s dementia ramps up, and the #war in #iran continues failing (from not existing, being won several times over, from being an excursion to weekly gamechanging deals, to now a global flashpoint), the question on my lips is what gives first, and how bad it devolves from there. So, nothing new.
  • shoutout to #Ukraine for winning, persevering
  • #ClimateChange is an unavoidable discussion since them #forestfires , as the usa now clearly take a stance where environment has a worth - good news!
  • inflation is beating all established records i can think of, pointing towards bad news - except for the few profiting from it - in the short term, possibly correlating with the impending #AI bubble

REMINDER: fires and smoke wouldn’t be this severe if action had been taken on climate earlier. Yes, some blazes start with human error or arson, but the climate crisis is drying forests and landscapes into matchboxes, so one spark becomes a firestorm that is hotter, faster and far harder to fight. #fires #forestfires #wildfires #climatechange #climatecrisis #oregon #ontario #us #canada #france #spain

This is not a natural disaster. The oil industry caused it and is knowingly throwing fuel on the fire while it continues raking in record profits at our expense. For us to have any chance of a future, the oil industry can have no future. Pass it on. #ClimateCrisis #ontario #forest #forestfires

anybody in #Manhattan smelling smoke in the air? the air quality was forecasted as bad for today but it feels smoky now. i may be imagining things, but not my lungs. had to pump the inhaler for the first time in a long one. #weather #Canada #airPollution #forestFires

#Greece, #Italy, #Spain, #Portugal, #France, #Germany, #England: Much of Europe is suffering an immense #heatwave. #Forestfires are (or were) ravaging, 12 people dead in Spain from forest fires. More forest #fires are sure to follow before the summer is over. Around 4000-5000 dead in Germany from the heat in June alone. #nuclearpowerplants in France shut down or running at reduced capacity to protect the rivers (that providing cooling to the plant) from overheating. And all of this is just the beginning of the #climatecrisis. We've seen it coming for decades, but failed to act on the information. How much longer until we take this for what it is, a #climateemergency?

As The Fires Settled (2022) During wildfire season in 2022 #JasperNationalPark in #Alberta was partially burnt and ravaged. Shortly after the fires reduced again I was able to drive through the park and take some photographs of the changed landscape - it was heartbreaking. Of course, worse years were coming the following summers... This image is one of the hillsides, partially burnt away with the dead remnants a deep brown red. #landscapephotography #photography #mountains #forestfires
