What people don't understand is that these fires, they destroy the only defense we have against the out of control global warming. millions, if not billions of trees were lost just in the past few weeks and no amount of plantation will bring them back. It will take years and decades for those forests to return to the condition they were before the fire and in the mean time, we keep increasing our carbon emission for useless crap like over consumption, war, useless technology with pre-planned obsolescence and obsession with global tourism. We can't change our way of life, majority of people are just too dumb to be willing to sacrifice their comfort and "do as usual" lifestyle to TRY slowing down this existential treat to our lives.
