What's the worst that can happen if I slot in a slightly different battery in my laptop?..

RE: @yurisizov@mastodon.gamedev.place
To compensate I devised a new plan for this week: spend each day a few hours on personal projects, then a few hours of contract work.
And I think that experiment is a success! I made progress on art and code for my game, and also made some money – all without guilt in either direction! And I felt more productive too, working more hours total.
Switching up midday also helped it all feel less draining. Even though I like to keep focus, sometimes things drag you down if you don’t take a break.
Imagine this productivity, but spent on something useful and important to coding...
Just realized that we get power cutoffs often enough that I maybe should buy an UPS for my laptop now. Which is just silly...
With an external keyboard (because S on the built-in is permanently shorted) and a spiderweb of dongle wires (because all built-in USB ports bar one are dead) I get no convenience of a laptop and with the form factor I get no performance of a comparable desktop.
The worst of both worlds!
I am once again being a master of unnecessary detail.
Someone should make an asset pack with custom node icons for Godot, fitting the style and using official colors for 2D, 3D, Controls, etc. 🤔
I like customizing things, but making custom icons every time is yet another sinkhole where time spent is not really paying off IMO.

I guess that makes some people happy.
I still think the outrage is ridiculous. Nvidia, a military-industrial complex giant, has been a sponsor since forever. AI-loving Meta; Grok's No.1 fan Timmy are sponsors as well. There is damn Meshy even, literally encroaching on artists...
Anthropic is shit, but is it more shit than those companies? Many reacted like something unprecedented has happened, but that's not really the case.
Feeling like blocking on sight people who refuse to understand that FOSS projects cannot exist without people being paid for their work, and your 5 bucks a month is, unfortunately, not enough to sustain something, let alone provide people with stability to plan for future.
What is the most recent game that you've played that has cheat codes?
Bluesky is all kind of down today, and I gotta be honest, it makes me very pleased that regardless of the source of all these issues regular people immediately associate a bad IT product with vibe coding and AI.
That's the stigma that should always be attached to anything and anyone associated with those "tools".
We need to separate “tech” companies from videogames. This level of ghoulishness is insufferable. This is not progress in visual tech. This is defacing of an art form by people with ugly souls.
Hey folks! For the three of you who do wild things with the Godot editor, me and @gdquest@techhub.social have a new library (WIP) to ease your woes a bit.
Editor Interface Access is a library that enumerates ~380 editor nodes (for now), so you can access any of them with just one line of code!
Someone actually made a plugin for previewing parts of text shaders in Godot, like I've wanted for the longest time!

Personally, I'd love to see it further implemented like "breakpoints" on lines, with on-hover previews. But still, so cool!
