@ErikaSumner I think declaring the enslavement of Africans as a grave crime against humanity, and moving towards amending the consequences it has to this days are very important. But I find it hard to understand the need to rank and compare crimes against humanity and declare one as "the gravest". Both on a theoretical level - every suffering is different, and comparison is impossible; and on a practical level - it may antagonize groups who suffered themselves, instead of creating solidarity.

Surveilence capitalism wants a hidden panopticon, as it wants to manipulate, not directly control. But the same infrastructure can be easily used by authoritarians - all they need to do is make the panopticon known.

I discussed it (the binge method) with my partner, who is dyslexic, and she says she feels that this doesn't work well enough for her - she needs the explicit explanations to grasp grammar and the constant repetituon to not forget. She says that research usually screens out dyslexic people, so the conclusions cannot be applied to them - is that so? Dobyou know of language acquisition research nd methods focusing on dyslexic people?

personally I got a fairphone for the very purpose of not having to replace it for as long as I can. I got a fp4 a bit over a year ago, and it's simply an OK phone - nothing fancy, not shitty. my main complaint are battery life, which was a problem in any phone I had since the Nokia brick, and the fact that Google assistant keeps shoving itself at my face. @dewittehaas @vicgrinberg @K4mpfie
