@alienghic@timeloop.cafe @rockario@kind.social I use the #Librem5 as my daily phone. I use the 3.5 mm jack nearly daily to listen to podcasts and internet radio. I really like that the Librem 5 is a full Linux handheld device where I can use all Linux commands, and have full freedom. No AI by default on the Librem 5, no ads, focus on #privacy and #security. It also has three hardware kill switches to disable mic, camera, wifi and bluetooth, and mobile data. #Linux #MobileLinux #opensource #FOSS #PureOS

Get $250 off the Liberty Phone featuring Made-in-USA Electronics and transparency of both its hardware and software. If you believe independence should extend to the device in your pocket, this is the moment to make the switch! #Privacy #LibertyPhone #Librem5 #Linux #FOSS #PureOS https://puri.sm/posts/celebrating-250-years-of-us-independence-with-250-off-the-liberty-phone/

I guess it's impossible to remove Google from Android phones. I have disabled Google, but cannot delete it. And it re-enabled itself later. The only way out of this, I'm thinking, is an alternative operating system for the phone. http://john1126.com/746 #phone #Google #Android #GrapheneOS #CopperheadOS #DivestOS #PureOS #postmarketOS #UbuntuTouch

The upcoming release of #PureOS Crimson, the default #Linux operating system for @purism@social.librem.one devices like the #Librem5 Linux phone got many stability improvements. Only a few blockers for final release remaining. Read all the details here: https://puri.sm/posts/pureos-crimson-development-report-march-2026/ Thanks to all who contributed to this! You can support the development of PureOS with a totally optional subscription: https://puri.sm/posts/pureos-optional-subscription-added-to-advance-development/ #Purism #MobileLinux #DigitalSovereignty #FOSS #OpenSource #DevelopmentReport

@Linux@linuxrocks.online @robianhood@mastodon.social I'd say the fully #FreeSoftware / #OpenSource #PureOS from @purism@social.librem.one is also (probably*) commercially viable. Any particular reason you excluded it?

There's also #FuriOS from @furilabs@fosstodon.org While it's probably a bit early to determine its success, at least they made enough money to continue development and release a new model without crowdfunding.
