Does anybody else feel like LLMs completely destroyed not only the job market, but the job hunting process itself? I apply to dozens of jobs and it's like I just don't exist. Nobody even notices me jumping in the back yelling, "Ooh, me! Pick me!" because of the throng of LLMs auto-applying and the other throng of LLMs doing the actual candidate selection. The game has changed. IDK how to play it anymore, and I'm literally going hungry as a result. #LLM #jobs #JobMarket #HR

"Nobody owes anybody a job. The only reason anyone has one is because there was a problem at some point in that business that required a human to do some part of the work. Building on that, if that ever becomes not the case, for a particular person or team or department of human employees, the natural next action is to get rid of them." “Mistakenly, we thought that by just introducing artificial intelligence and ingesting the design requirements that we had, that that would produce a high-quality product.” How Ford replaced hundreds of engineers with AI, which broke a bunch of shit causing billions in damage and forcing them to rehire those people: https://www.the-independent.com/tech/ford-ai-automation-human-workers-b3003787.html #workforce #AIDisplacement #AIReplacement #jobMarket #hiring #productivity #beliefs #governance

The Daily Beast Latest Articles | America’s Job Market Optimism Gap Ranked the Worst on Earth by Martha McHardy AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. A new Gallup poll reveals that the United States now has the widest generational gap in job‑market optimism worldwide, with only 43 % of adults aged 15‑34 viewing 2025 as a good time to find work compared with 64 % of those over 55—a 21‑point difference that far exceeds the global median gap of about 10 points. Aside from a handful of countries (China, Serbia, the UAE, Hong Kong and Norway), younger Americans are uniquely pessimistic, a reversal from past trends even during earlier economic downturns. Analysts link the plunge in confidence—especially among educated young people not yet in full‑time jobs—to worries about artificial‑intelligence disruption, shrinking entry‑level opportunities and hiring practices that favor connections over qualifications. This slump coincides with mounting criticism of President Donald Trump’s economic policies, as polls show growing disapproval of his handling of inflation, cost‑of‑living pressures and the overall economy, while confidence among younger workers has dropped 27 points since 2023, nearly matching the decline seen during the 2007‑09 financial crisis.
