“The BBC has a well-documented history of extensive pro-Israel bias, with its own reporters complaining that they’ve been performing PR for the Israeli government and its own editor losing a libel lawsuit against a journalist who exposed his pro-Israel slant. They spent years running cover for an active genocide with ‘Hamas-run health ministry says’ headlines and passive-language verbal gymnastics to protect Israeli information interests, so you know that when Lucy Williamson objects ‘That sounds racist!’ to an Israeli settler claiming Jewish lives are worth far more than Palestinian lives, she’s not actually upset at his belief system. She just knows you’re not supposed to say such things out loud” Quoting Caitlin Johnstone on Substack “ALL Mainstream Western Institutions View Palestinian Lives As Worthless” https://open.substack.com/pub/caitlinjohnstone/p/all-mainstream-western-institutions @palestine@fedibird.com @Palestine@masto.ai @palestine@lemmy.ml @uk_politics @BBC5Live@social.bbc @BBCRadio4@social.bbc @BBCNews@flipboard.com #Press #SocialMedia #UK #BBC #PalestinianGenocide #Racism #Bias #Israel

AI is more likely than humans to form biases when hiring The models were even more likely to stereotype people by demographic group than the human participants in the original study. Because LLMs “really are eager to create generalizations from limited data” #bias #discrimination #hiring #jobs #hr #artificialintelligence #ai #technology #tech https://www.technologyreview.com/2026/07/20/1140655/ai-biases-hiring-humans/

#AI is more likely than humans to form #bias when #hiring AI doesn’t just learn stereotypes from its training. It can cook up new ones, too. New research suggests that #LLM can also develop their own #biases from experience—and stereotype #job applicants more than humans do. As AI companies race to build #agentic models that remember the tiniest details about users, they may be handing them ammunition for forming those biases. https://www.technologyreview.com/2026/07/20/1140655/ai-biases-hiring-humans/ https://archive.ph/0CPBv

‘Our new paper offers a rare look inside the “black box” of algorithmic hiring, showing that these tools increase racial bias and shut the same people out of jobs everywhere they apply’. https://hai.stanford.edu/news/ai-hiring-tools-can-yield-racial-bias-and-systemic-rejection #hiring #HR #jobMarket #racism #bias #AI
