Another Wayland compositor I looked at was @ifreund@hachyderm.io's https://isaacfreund.com/software/river/ which I learned about last #FOSDEM! River is "non-monolithic", which means that you can write your own window manager for it, and it will do the compositing for you. It also has deeply integrated multi-seat support, and even the simple "tinyrwm" examples I tried work pretty well with multiple seats! 🎉 So… I think it would be an excellent basis to write a new window manager with first-class multi-seat support!

Hey #GitHub, it's roughly half a year until #FOSDEM. As a reminder, I will disable the #NAT64-based #IPv4 fallback on the default network next year. The default network will be #IPv6-only. I do note that @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de does support IPv6.

I remember asking people at the last #FOSDEM about ways to communicate by radio in case of an Internet blackout. I explored a few possibilities, but no one mentioned #mesh networks, even though I'd first heard about them more than 10 years ago from an activist friend living in Pará, near the Amazon rainforest. A few weeks ago, I bookmarked a video on the topic. I finally watched it yesterday and discovered #Meshtastic. Since then, I've also come across #MeshCore, #Reticulum, and #atak. When it comes to communication, we seem to enjoy creating many different approaches. I hope these communities will find ways to interoperate and communicate with each other.
