Aðaldalur, #Iceland. I recently spent some time in a summer cottage in #Aðaldalshraun in #NorthernIceland which is a large lavafield about 2000-3500 years old. In some parts it is disappearing in moss and Icelandic birch but in other places it looks remarkably intact. I also cycled around lake Botnsvatn which is just above the beautiful town of #Húsavík, made famous in the 2020 #Netflix comedy #Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. It is quite a beautiful place and amazing to #cycle around. #lava #Iceland

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🚲 #Edinburgh #Waverley #railway station has renewed its partnership with The Bike Station to pass on unclaimed #bicycles for refurbishment and reuse. Each year, dozens of bikes are left at the station. Over the past two years, more than 60 have been abandoned after attempts to reunite them with owners. Bikes are stored in cycle racks for up to two weeks, then moved to secure storage for six months before being released if unclaimed. On 22 April, around 30 bicycles were collected and taken to Polmont Prison for cleaning and servicing as part of the refurbishment process. The Bike Station refurbishes and resells bikes at affordable prices, reinvesting income into #cycling access projects, maintenance training and schemes such as Kids Bike Life. #Sheffield #coffee deliveries on the #ebike done. Definitely becoming more of a fair-weather-cyclist as I get older. But with the weather nicer it beats the car. Our #cargobike is a car-replacement, 32km in an hour and a half converts to averaging 13mph. With stops, that's not much slower than a car but always much more fun. As always, a few chumps hating on people making better transport choices but haters gonna hate so best ignored.
