That's why #ebike regulation always disadvantages women more than men, and that's #sexism. That makes this a #feminist issue. Women in our society also disproportionately bear the burdens of childcare, and power-assisted bicycles are a viable alternative to motor vehicles for transporting children. There's no reason why anyone should be required to hold a license, registration, or insurance to operate an #ebike, merely because it has enough power to easily transport children at low speeds.

There is no valid legal theory to support the idea that bicycles of any kind, powered or unpowered, should be subjected to the same regulations as highway-capable, high speed, heavyweight motor vehicles. And in fact, we already have precedent in existing law to establish that low-speed motor vehicles are permissible to operate without a license. More positively, it was a great ride, apart from the stupid crash & blood. Lots of water bars for jumping—one jump was 7.81m with a hangtime of 0.74s! One of my biggest, for sure! You better believed I whooped & hollered! Possibly providing an *idiot coming* alert to the riders grinding slowly up just around the next corner🙄😂 23km 1hr10 Ascent 843m 1/2 #eMTB #eBike #BlueMountains

Another glorious day. I rode Linden Ridge (no. 2) firetrail, & explored some singletrack. The firetrail is up & down, out & back, lots of water bars for jumping. The singletrack was very slow, overgrown, & occasionally blocked by fallen trees, disappearing after 2.5km in a rocky clearing. I've ridden this track years ago, but recall it ended much earlier. I left it a bit late to also do the Mt Twiss singletrack. Total 34.5km, 1hr50 Ascent 760m #eMTB #eBike #BlueMountains

Liebe #fahrradbubble in #hamburg. Ich habe ein etwas spezielleres Problem mit meinem KTM #ebike. Es musste das Kettenblatt gewechselt werden. Mein normaler Fahrradladen ist kein KTM-Händler und hatte kein passendes. Also bin ich zu einem der KTM Läden gegangen, Kettenblatt getauscht. Seitdem hakt die Schaltung unter Last. Ich vermute ja, dass der Kettenblatt-Offset nicht stimmt, aber ich hab auch keine Ahnung. Wo finde ich denn einen entsprechenden Fahrradnerd der sowas mal anschaut?

I wanted to show someone my commuter #ebike now that I got it back from getting painted, I asked for copper metallic paint accent and the painter said "nah, I do metallic leaf" and he ordered a bit of copper leaf to match the copper headtube badge. #biketooter #steelisreal

Mich hat es generft das E-Bike Akku Ladegeräte den eingesteckten Akku immer nur vollknallen sofern man sie nicht vorher vom Stromnetz trennt. Das geht arg auf die Lebensdauer der teuren Akkus. Deshalb jetzt eine Lade-Kontroll Software für Shelly Plugs gebaut. Es läuft alles auf dem Plug ohne Cloud oder Server. Falls wer Interesse dran hat werde ich das demnächst als #OpenSource freigeben. Wenn wer vorinstallierte Shellys haben will, kontaktiert mich privat. #fedibikes #fahrradbubble #ebike

Nach längerem Ringen gibt es hier dann demnächst ein neues Bike. Wenn also jemand jemand weiß, die Interesse an einem älteren, aber voll funktionsfähigen Winora town-e mit frisch aufbereitetem Akku für vergleichsweise schmales Geld hat, geht weitersagen (und gern boosten). Cleaned up the terminals and put insulation rings on the cells selected for the next battery pack. This is for the Jasion brand ebike that I received in disrepair and tested the motor. I managed to salvage the down tube battery case so I arranged the cells in the holders from that. Nickel strips and spot welding are next. #diy #ebike #repair

Seth from Bern Peak cracked an abandonware #ebike with lots of ebike, electric and a bit of electronic engineering experience and an LLM. Let's put aside the LLM. A few months ago I saw a broken abandoned e-scooter. My first reaction was to pick it up, but my second was "I don't have space to work on this". Watching Seth's video https://youtu.be/J_Lx2x_3ZQg I now regret that decision. I wonder if there's any ebike/e-scooter #hacking community here in the Fedi that I could start lurking. #BikeTooter

What's a good app for finding bike routes specifically around Metro Vancouver? e.g. Apple Maps gave garbage directions from New West to PoCo. Google Maps did a decent job. However, Google maps gave terrible directions around Mount Pleasant area. (told me to go along 12th instead of 10th for some dumb reason) I only really use Google Maps when I have to, but it’s also time to switch away from Apple maps. The main need is bike-friendly mapping system. #bike #ebike #vancouver #bc
