@nileane@nileane.fr "An affiliate or sponsorship arrangement is a transactional placement for awareness, not an endorsement of a creator's views." Bull. Shit. There are literally MANY millions of accounts on YouTube that you could have chosen to put your name next to. You specifically chose this one. Which means you view their work as sufficiently aligned with yours as to give them money to keep doing what they're doing, while putting the eyes of their followers on you. YOU chose to put your name next to a right-winger. So YOU considered YOUR work and theirs sufficiently aligned to warrant a partnership. "Out team didn't have enough context". You mean, they didn't even Google the name and clicked on the first link, a Wikipedia entry clearly saying he's a far-right journalist? So, you're either absolutely incompetent as a company or knowingly and purposefully support the far-right. Neither of those is a good look on you...

@Tengu@snug.moe @nadia@raru.re I've actually used a ~40'' TV as my third monitor before, during the 2020-2022 period. It hosted either a browser window for law research/reference, or a Twitch stream when it wasn't needed for anything else. Sadly, that TV has since been given away, and my new office doesn't have space for a TV 😭

@catsalad@infosec.exchange Actually something that has existed for a long time, believe it or not! In Portugal we call them "carpideiras" (because they're usually women), people who traditionally were (are?) hired to mourn people during funeral proceedings. In essence, you could (can?) pay people to look sad and cry during the mass preceding the funeral, during the funeral procession, and until the coffin is buried. I assume in the olden days they were brought in so that the deceased person would be considered important. In a "Look how many people they touched! There are SO MANY people crying their eyes out because they're gone!" kind of way.

@profoundlynerdy@bitbang.social If you haven't already, I'd suggest taking a look at Aurora's channel on YT, she makes arguably the best 3D printer reviews. These days, most printers should reliably self-level. Flashforge are known for being workhorses and super cheap, but IIRC they still don't have a multi-material printer with an enclosure out of the box (you can print the enclosure and order a few parts from them), if that's important to you. A Bambulab P1S might be a good choice if you want an Apple-like experience. And you can add up to 4 4-roll multimaterial boxes to it down the line.

Actual finishing time is TBD in most projects, and never under 2-3 months... Upside: I am currently sitting on a brand-new, unused, 16GB DDR4 kit of memory that cost me just over €50, which should tell you just how long ago I bought it... :neocat_sob: *SIGH*

@weirdestate@eigenmagic.net Odd statement, considering back in the 1600s-1800s beds were actually often built into cubbies. Regarding the listing, $675/month for a freaking POD with zero privacy or security is obscene. Also, this passage is *chef's kiss* "The lease begins with a 2 month trial period. If you're a good fit for the community, your lease will be extended month to month." Translation: we can throw you out with essentially zero notice. This is NOT something set up to help anyone, it's a $10k+/month money grab that is likely one phone call away from being shut down for not following build and fire code requirements...

@sudo200 @Umbreon @earthshine IIRC, a few years ago there was legitimate concern about travel plans for a furry convention, because if those peeps went missing, the Internet as we know it would cease to exist. So, yes, furries ARE critical infrastructure. Or at least they are responsible for enough of said critical infrastructure that them not being there to do their job puts the current tech landscape in serious jeopardy.

@ex_06 @yunohost ETA usually depends on the terms of the contract signed with NLNet. Don't quote me on this, but I think those contracts are usually for a year. So, at the end of the contract, the features they say they'll implement must be implemented, or risk having to hand back the money received. We'll probably know more when they post the timeline of the features they want to implement. That being said, I'm very happy to see good FOSS projects getting meaningful funding.

@zanon Oh, mine are fairly easy to do (plus in Portugal we have an IRS code that's actually parseable... lol). Most expenses are already automatically submitted (centralized invoice submission for our IRS numbers), so are most incomes. In my case, what made me have to pay is that I couldn't offset some income because I didn't have enough valid expenses for that income category. And trust me, I looked. I use @ff3 to track ALL my income and expenses, so I could check. Sadly, nothing else came up that I could use to offset that income. Better luck next year 😛

After my upgrade to #komodo 2.0 failed miserably (or rather, the update to the Periphery agents, which all lost connectivity to the server and I couldn't get it back), and me not wanting to spend extra time debugging it, I moved my #docker management to #dockhand.

I don't miss any functionality for my use case, so that's a plus. Also appreciated: the automatic updates, which I used in Komodo, too.

Meanwhile, Linux Update Dashboard has been helping me keep my #homelab servers updated.

Currently running a fully updated homelab, feels nice.
