Only 25% of participants are over 30, so older people are under-represented in the survey results. Over-30s tend to find the survey via the mailing list emails and Facebook. We also have our first Known Bug: Some people are reporting that the multiple-choice input lists are invisible. ➡️ Reloading the page fixes it. ⬅️ This will bump you back to the start of the survey, but don't worry, your answers will have been saved - you'll just have to skip through any pages you've already done first. I've reported it to Tally (the survey provider) and added some advice text to the pages where the bug is likely to happen. I'm really sorry for the confusion, folks!

Hm, annual subscriptions as they currently stand don't seem to quite fit my needs either. 1) Subscriptions can renew on the 1st of the month that the person first subscribed, but I want to only charge *everyone* all at once, once per year. 2) It's a bit ambiguous but it looks like if you allow annual subscriptions you might also have to accept monthly subscriptions? Which I do not want. #patreon

I just logged in to Patreon for the first time in ages, and found that there now *is* once again a deadline for changing your account over from "per thing" funding to "per month" funding.

However, they also mentioned that they will be bringing in an annual funding option! Which basically solves all my problems with funding. :D I am relieved!!!!!

The Gender Census is an annual English language survey of everyone internationally whose experience of their gender (or lack thereof) doesn't fit the male/female binary.

It's been going for over 10 years, run by an enthusiastic amateur volunteer, and these days it gets over 40,000 responses per annual survey. All results are written up into a report and published at https://www.gendercensus.com.

@catraxx@tech.lgbt It's free for all functions for me and everyone else, it doesn't require someone to have an account to download or even just view the data and my calculations, it's accessible and user-friendly in terms of disability, glitches are rare, and I'm good at using it. Since the data is collected outside of Google, individual submissions can't be connected to specific people/locations by Google.

People who use screenreaders, I have a question about graphs as images in the Gender Census report.

Would you rather the alt text/image description was:

1) A very brief description such as "bar graph", and a link in the caption (under the image) to the Google Sheet containing the actual data and the graph

2) The numerical data as alt text, e.g. "nonbinary, 30%, 594. genderqueer, 25%, 456. etc."

3) Either of the above is fine

4) Something else that I have not anticipated!
