@dramypsyd@ohai.social I think it's important to disconnect sometimes. Just turn your internet off until you don't miss it any more. Shouldn't take much more than a week. It's a drug, we're addicted, and all functional addicts know you have to clear your head occasionally.

@dramypsyd@ohai.social the cave is tempting, but I think they can get cold and damp in winter, and you still have to find food and get some new hobbies compatible with living in a cave. Cave painting is one obvious possibility.

@dramypsyd@ohai.social It wasn't in a cave, but last weekend we (family) went camping in a valley with zero phone (and thus internet) reception. It was the best! 3 days without anything from the outside world, but with the view of 9 waterfalls from our camp spot.

@dramypsyd@ohai.social I'm selling my house so investigations of rural housing on a low budget are in process. Must have water. No electricity? Could manage just with solar plus batteries. No provision for sewage? Compost toilet, I suppose. No fibre ... NO FIBRE??!!
