Visiting townies remark how quiet it is here in the little hamlet amongst the fields and vines. Not quiet today. A wasp, a shield-bug, and two large flies are buzzing and banging around the SFKnAT. One neighbour is sawing planks, another is strimming. A teenager rides a quadbike up and down the cul-de-sac. Something spooked all three collections of hunting dogs, who are barking frantically. Two roosters are shouting at each other. You can hardly hear the garden birds. #SouthwestFrance

Several reports of English people upset that their holiday flights might be cancelled because of fuel shortages. Very little sympathy here, except for people hoping to visit family and friends. Much sympathy for people working in the tourist industry, but for those who plan a flight for a holiday given recent circumstances? Not much.

Baby sangliers are extremely cute, especially trotting through a forest. They are Perky* rather than Pinky*. * Cultural ref for older Anglos. #WildBoar #marcassin

Awaiting updates on archeological digs at Wogan Cavern, especially the evidence of it being used as a dwelling more than 11000 years ago. https://www.wogancavern.org/

I propose that politicians and legislators be required to pass a test about anything which they propose or judge. Expert advice during the exam would be encouraged, but the responses must be handwritten by the examinee. This proposal is shrieked into the sky (with less polite vocabulary) subsequent to the horrified realisation that many politicos seem not to know what an operating system is. #OperatingSystem #IdentityVerification #Laws

Having been put off by the term "doughnut economics", I decided to put aside prejudice against greasy fast-food and find out what it's about. Here's Richard Murphy's excellent explanation - https://eastangliabylines.co.uk/business/economics/is-this-how-we-make-economics-sustainable/?fsp_sid=8177
