I really like that I can post to followers only here. Sometimes I need to scream into the void but not, like, the ENTIRE void, you know?

2026 is a very spiky year. I've had some of the best things ever happen, and also some of the worst days of my life. So I guess if we're talking statistics, 2026 has been about average.

Continuing Education Course: Differential Diagnoses: ADHD and Autism I have gotten good feedback from my CE courses on assessing for and diagnosing ADHD and autism, and one area for improvement that was identified was to talk more about differentials—when a client does not end up meeting the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for what they initially suspected, or when their traits… https://resiliencymentalhealth.com/2026/07/28/continuing-education-course-differential-diagnoses-adhd-and-autism/

I have an absurdly sensitive startle response so my husband does this adorable thing when he walks around the house where he claps his hands an chants “I live here, I live here.” It does not always work.

Ok look who showed up at our house this afternoon!! No microchip. Animal Control is going to pick her up and try to find her humans because she seems friendly, but if they can't find her home she might be coming back here.

We got our cat’s ashes yesterday and the vet labeled them aggressive 🤣🤣🤣 The tech who helped us was like I’m so sorry we were supposed to take that off I was like no I know what he was like, this is a perfect way to honor him. Spicy to the end 💜

Give Yourself Filler Episodes The other day, I saw a reel of someone lamenting about how television shows these days have such short seasons, so everything has to be plot-heavy, advancing the full story.... https://resiliencymentalhealth.com/2026/07/16/give-yourself-filler-episodes/

This morning Armani was too weak to stand on his own. We went to the emergency vet and she told us it was time. We were with him in the end. He knew he was loved and he’s not in pain anymore.

I just saw an interview with Kelsey Pfendler and the interviewer was like "What's your next goal" GIVE THE GIRL A BREAK!! She just rowed BY HERSELF across an ENTIRE OCEAN and broke MULTIPLE WORLD RECORDS in the process. What have you ever done?? Hustle culture is a scourge.

In our house, you can eat whatever you want as long as you pay the cat tax. Not pictured: my pizza

Vet says as long as Armani’s sugars don’t crash, she thinks he’s just still recovering from the constipation. His levels are high and we can monitor at home so he’s just resting and getting pets 💜

Me @ my laundry: Try to stay clean this time please

Armani is going to the emergency vet this morning for constipation and weakness. He’s not taking food or water. He ALWAYS eats. I’m so worried.

Maybe I just don’t get it because I’m a buzzkill who hates fireworks anyway but what’s the point of shooting them off when the sun is still up? You can’t even see them. It’s just noise. Awful, horrible, sensory hell noise

So on the one hand House Hunt is a fun app, I like the renovations and making the number go up, but on the other hand it’s radicalizing me even harder because what the hell do you mean a starter home is $900,000

CE idea: Animal Assisted Therapy, as a retreat, partnering with the Steve Irwin Zoo in Australia. What would it take to make this happen??

Setting Boundaries on LinkedIn A few years ago, I rage-quit LinkedIn because a dozen times a day I was getting unsolicited private messages either trying to sell me stuff or get me to work for free (T-Mobile, you still owe me for the "interview" you tried to turn into a consultation and then never actually hired me).... https://resiliencymentalhealth.com/2026/06/30/setting-boundaries-on-linkedin/

I just learned that there’s a local triathlon event called Siouxperman and I’m so mad I didn’t think of that pun first This might actually get me to exercise. I need to earn that T shirt.

LinkedIn used to be my most hated app until I put in my profile that I won’t answer your message unless you tell me your favorite animal and now it’s the best because I just taught someone that cheetahs purr and it made their day

I got a random email from TalkSpace asking me to interview their CEO about their new AI bot. I’m open to it but not for the reasons they assume. Don’t trust any of your data to TalkSpace. They just handed over someone’s entire therapy transcripts to their boss. It’s a privacy nightmare and I don’t understand why they’re still in business, or what kind of therapist would work for them.

Well the good news is Armani gained half a pound back, suggesting his IBS is getting under control, but the bad news is despite his high water intake he was dehydrated, suggesting he might now have kidney disease. His health is a game of whack a mole.

I just accidentally sent a fax to myself instead of the requesting party. (Copied the "to" number on the request I received rather than the "reply" number.) My fax service was like "Fax has been sent" and then immediately went "Fax received" and it was what I had just sent. Why is there even an option to do that.

My degree is not in medicine or public health. I have no recommendations or predictions about hantavirus. But seeing people react is really highlighting that we never dealt with the group psychological trauma of COVID; we just went back outside. I don’t have any catchy, social media ready words of wisdom. But maybe that’s something we start addressing now? Better late than never.
