🚄 Berlin to Sanremo This thread documents my journey home from #DWebCamp, exclusively via railway, expected to last 25 hours. More specifically: yesterday I travelled back to Berlin from Alte Hölle, Wiesenburg (Mark) station; today from Warschauer Straße to Berlin Hauptbanhof, then to München Hauptbanhof, then overnight to Firenze Campo di Marte, then tomorrow to Genova Piazza Principe, and finally to Taggia Arma. Had many good discussions about #decentralization at #dwebcamp with so many interesting people. When arriving in sunny Berlin @evan@cosocial.ca (one of the fathers of the #fediverse 😉) and I realised we did not take a picture at camp 😱 Fixed that!! Wish all the fellow #dwebcamp folks a good travel!

Participants needed no code skills, just ready-to-test tech and real conversations with those who conceived it. 🏕️ DWeb Camp 2026: Root Systems has begun! Honestly: we are posting only now because day 1 has passed and we didn’t even realise it! ✨ 🫶 We are over 500 builders, dreamers, artists, and organisers. 💫 Everyone created their button name tags, and found their people. The opening ceremony set the tone: co-created, participatory, and very much alive. 🌳 In one sentence: “Our future is the forest.” Ahead of us are 4 more days of protocol talks, campfire conversations, and whatever we want. #DWebCamp #RootSystems #trees #forest
