📺 Your Smart TV is watching you back You probably have an ad blocker on your computer. Maybe even on your phone. But on your TV? Almost certainly not. It makes sense: you can’t just install a standard browser extension there, and it feels like your Smart TV is just a big screen for movies and shows. In reality, it’s one of the most curious residents in your home.

Just visited an online PC mag on a different phone, it has a adblocker detector which swaps away from the article to a page that begs you to turn of your adblocker. Unsurprisingly, it works fine when I have all JavaScript disabled, like I have by default on my main phone #privacy #adblocker

I don't have an adblocker in this browser. Do have a DNS server with Response Policy Zones blocking known malicious sites, but surely that can't be it? While it was DNS this time it was because it did its job! #aldotcom #AdBlocker #KnownMalicious #DNS

As a test, I decide to disable my ad blocker for one of my favorite Linux and Open Source news sites. Wow! Most of the page is covered in ads. I knew that there might be one or two but how can anyone visit a site like this without an ad blocker? I understand the site owner needs to pay the bills, but maybe put up a donation link or something instead of all the ads? This is all very off-putting. #adblocker #ads
