@krupo@infosec.exchange I don't recall the names of the servers where I saw the advertisements, but IIRC, I only ever saw them in the local timelines. Please remember that there are three different timelines you can watch, by default: your home timeline (which is defined by your choices), the federated timeline (which is inter-server toots), and the local timeline (which is toots by people on your server) @RowinSpeez@mas.to @taylorlorenz@mastodon.social

@RowinSpeez@mas.to That last is actually not quite true... At least two servers that I was on did change their platform multiple times and even had adds. But I was able to simply move to different servers without losing the content I wanted to see. @taylorlorenz@mastodon.social

@anthonywilliams It isn't always about doing something cheaper/faster. It is often about aging out technologies. For example moving from PHP 5 to PHP 7 or moving from MySQL 5 to MySQL 6. Technical debt comes in many flavors and starts as soon as you "release" @malwareminigun @pierstoval

@tojiro Had a friend ask me about this in my weekly D&D game. When I bought my house, it came with an extra 220v outlet in the garage so I was able to do a full charge in a few hours. Additionally, I only used home charging except when I went on long drives (200+ miles in a day) and then I would generally use the free destination chargers or paid chargers as needed.

@tojiro A couple years ago, I replaced a Toyota Prius and a Ford Exploder with two EVs. My electric bill went up roughly $70 per month. My Prius, I drove a carpool roughly 50ish miles a day, cost about $25 a week and the Exploder cost roughly $50 per week. My EVs left the house with a full charge every morning and saved me over $200 a month for gas.

@seanm@infosec.exchange What issues are you having with Slack on Linux please? I ran Slack on Linux (Ubuntu) with KDE / Plasma for about 6 years without issue. Mind you, I had built the workstation as a server first and then added KDE / Plasma so it was a pretty thin system.

If your ballot was not marked as received by next Tuesday, you can go to your local polling place and request a provisional ballot.
