@dch@bsd.network no, Maolan is "replacement" for Ableton. It can't load Ableton session, but now you've given me something to think about 😃

I finally made https://maolan.rs on Windows work at least on my machine, so new version is published. That version also removed my hackish way of handling real time with proper lockless structures, and I added Live Session view looking similar to Ableton Live. There's still a lot of work to be done but #audio and #music production using #opensource has never been more fun.
In the future I intend to work on plugins to make DAW more complete. Maolan already supports CLAP, LV2 and VST3, so you can load plugins, but I want to develop some of my own.

@timbray@cosocial.ca we hoped for the same for the .com bubble and cryptocurrency. They just found a new bubble

I finally released Maolan, DAW for #Linux and #FreeBSD! It was a great joy learning all about #Rust and #audio in a project for #music production. I'm sorry to say that #OpenBSD and #NetBSD are still not supported by the underlying libraries, but once they are, I'll work on support for those operating systems. On the other hand, Windows proved to be near impossible to support, so I removed the support for it. Maybe at some point my best man will add OSX support, but as their baby is on the way, I wouldn't count on it. Anyway, the site is https://maolan.github.io and the only missing piece is "support the project", because I'm in Serbia. Enjoy!

@_bapt_@mastodon.social @ifreund@hachyderm.io @FreeBSDFoundation@mastodon.social "pkg check -da" revealed that "mate-desktop" is pulling in "dconf-editor", and looking at the port it is the dependency. Rebuilding dconf-editor from ports fixed it. Are there any tips except building from ports that fix issues like this? Thank you!

pkg --version
1.21.990.3
When I run "pkg upgrade", it installs dconf-editor and when I run "pkg autoremove" it removes it.

@mpts@mastodon.social I'm not sure Vagrant can convert VM type on the fly, but on the other I never researched that, so I would be very interested in your findings

@mpts@mastodon.social but there is support for bhyve in Vagrant last time I checked. To be honest, I'm not satisfied with it, hence I did start development of CBSD/Reggae which I use for all my projects as it supports bhyve and jail (sorry about the self promotion) and you can provision it with shell script, ansible, puppet, saltstack and chef. I use only shell and ansible, so others might need some attention
