@Ensyis there is a tv show that gives you 30 seconds to guess a word after saying the definition to you first. Most of contestants give a correct answer under extreme pressure, maybe when there are 3 seconds left. The only "little" difference for an artist is that there is no "correct" answer! IDK if it is better or worse xD

I think fediverse has returned my calm and tranquility. Centralized social media definitely is a source of garbage, advertising, disinterest and violence in all areas, and it's been a long journey to realize for me. I thank especially all the kind people I have met in all this time here, and beige.party for opening me its doors to a diverse, fun and respectful space. I finally see and get the superficiality in centralized social media.. one of the most painful things emotionally besides the disinterest of people, amplified by a perverse algorithm that depressed everyone who stays there. Let's talk about Skrillex... [Some kind of Live Review]

Yeah: I am one of those metalheads who love his early work back in 2010-2012, completely amazed by its insane, multi layer songs, touching crazyness, bordering on madness and huge arrangement-complexity. I think that material is really something even today.

This guy strangely became massive globally with a mix of electronic genres like dubstep, house and electro dance with a kind of distorted synth riffs and unexpected rythms with heavy danceables drum basses. One of the greatest to create a sound that spread years later to the most fervent pop.

Well... last weekend Skrillex played in Chile (Lollapalooza) after 10 years. And you know what? This guy is extraordinary. His capability of adapt his set to every different context just show his professionalism and nonstopping creativity.

This time, as almost every headliner, he could feel what is to be like in front of the chilean crowd... Just 30 mins after the beginning, he had to stop the show to ask the audience to take a step back, calm down, and look out for each other. People pasing out, being pushed too hard, or simply not having enough air available due to the excitement of the crowd, moving en masse towards the front. He took long to make sure everybody was ok, watching the people in front of him and even talking to several ones. He is such a nice adorable guy <3

He spent about five minutes very politely asking people to calm down. The frenzy that Skrillex creates ignites hearts in South America, especially in Chile. Here, people become a mass, and if you don't have stamina, you'll probably end up fainting.

The set was great: a lot of old stuff, and maybe a more mature Skrillex, or is it that he no longer pushes his music to the limit, or is he simply an artist who has already established his sound as a standard: high quality and adrenaline-pumping? Undoubtedly.

He showed his own style in every second of the show in front of a totally crazy audience. Quite exciting, I enjoyed it a lot.

Because of my stepdaughter's love for Tyler the Creator, I watched his show in Lollapalooza Chile last night and I can tell you, I am shocked: this guy, totally alone on an empty (and huge) stage, rapping, singing and dancing -again, alone- in front of a sea of thousands of people during almost 1 and a half hour... What a personality! Charming, sympathetic, and talented, he was in absolute control of the show, and capable of maintaining a performance on his own: no dancers, no band, no overloaded visuals.. just a tight and simple light show (very good btw) and basic and minimalist visuals; most of all, screens showing him.

Maybe I'm not a fan of his music (this is the first time I hear it), but I can say that -for a more traditional born in the 80s like me- it's really something: an alternative sound, contemporary, with rythm and ambient violent changes, unexpected transitions, and a strange unique mixing of genres like hip hop, r&b, and even heavier and more distorted ones, I don't know if it reminds me of a lot of different music or of nothing I've ever heard before. I definitely will check out his discography.

This guy could be confident, but he felt the latinamerican warm... he barely could speak through a wild screaming crowd the whole concert. He showed moved and thankful. At one point he even silenced the crowd by shouting "Shut up!" so he could speak in peace 🤣 People was euphoric. I'm sure if he comes back there will be several sold-out shows. Today begins Lollapalooza in Santiago. One of the most hated AND beloved festivals here in Chile. It is expected that more than 80,000 people will attend daily.

For me, Lolla is the biggest shopping-mall Festival (something like Coachella but here in Chile). The experience inside is unethically full of advertising: every corner, every stage, every tent and every activity. But still..

Last year TOOL came to Southamerica for the first time thanks to Lolla. Otherwise, they would hardly have come. Historical. PLUS: Lollapalooza always offer on their lineup a considerable percentage of local bands. That's great. There are other massive Festivals here but chilean bands aren't always welcome and if it is so, very few end participating.

I miss a lot of concerts lately because of money issues: live music is too expensive and it's getting worse every day. So: I appreciate very much when people record the whole show and post it on their Youtube channel. What a bless! Many of them are getting pro, with very cool audio and they make sure that the show looks good on video. Totally a win-win thing. I can enjoy the show in my place with good sound and quality, and they earn some money with their Youtube views. BUT:

COME ON... what do you earn recording a song (or half of it), while dancing, with your shitty phone? Shitty audio, shitty photographic framing, not a bit of corcern to make a nice video... Besides, that video will remain in their hard drives like a speck of dust in an abandoned house. They'll never watch it again. NEVER.

Concerts should have some kind of strong restriction with phones/cameras; they are annoying, they bother the people behind you, and sometimes a few "geniuses" record with the flash ON. COME ON!!

What should be done? What do you think, people?
