They are not the same company you began negotiations or signed a contract with. A full renegotiation is a good place to start, with a dedicated 'real human' clause, and a base rate of 150% last rate...plus a minimum retainer of what they spent last year. For the real human clause. The new rate is last year hourly * 1.5. Correcting any issues with a root or contributing cause traceable to the use of LLMs or any other form of generative "Ai" will be billed at twice new rate, plus a base callout fee of two hours as the complexity of resolving problems created by an unexplainable algorithm are at least twice as hard.

@munin@infosec.exchange I've been proposing a 10% premium on electric and water, dedicated to relief of back bills for seniors, disabled, etc. Some of the local politicians have been receptive. None have listened when I said we should get property tax in advance at a discount for the data center owner, just in case they're broke next year.

I think I was the only one who ever serviced it (mid 80s, brake cleaner and lithium grease). In the early 2000s I tried to ride it. Fixed the tires & chain, but it wouldn't shift. Pulled the side of the hub, filled it with diesel overnight, a little percussive exercise for the mechanism, and some cable tightening, and it was fine. I did about 100 miles on that bike in a couple of weeks
