@bagder@mastodon.social Fair enough. I'm mostly asking because PostgreSQL is switching from autoconf+make (but not automake) on Unix and a pile of homegrown perl for Windows to just meson for both. I think the main driver was the pain from the duplication for Windows (which most postgres hackers don't use), not autoconf as such.

The whole point of the Unicode definition is that it understands more of what constitutes a natural-language word.
