Sci_Burst is probably my favourite podcast right now - the accessible language of sometimes complex subjects, the clear rapport of the co-hosts, and their warm conversational style just makes the interesting topics even better. Update: It's taken me far too much time, but at least I can tell you what I've settled on: Joplin, which my partner introduced me to years ago, syncs for a bargain price compared to others, is open source, privacy-focused, and offers a kanban board plugin (though not available on mobile for me just yet). @text Hey, I think after I read your stuff you were one of the dream collaborators I had in mind when I started this idea haha! Helping communities (grant-funded workshops) and nonprofits (private consultation) etc make better tech choices, at the intersection of privacy, security, sustainability, and inclusivity - green, democratic, and Covid-safe - eventually offering cloud-based services too. So slow, small, but scalable; from each according to their ability, to each according to their need.

I guess I could self-host, but not really set up for that as well as I'd like to be yet. I had no idea of those managed Nextcloud instances so thank you! Yes, it'd be great if they enabled Deck hehe!

On an initial free trial I've tried Vikunja - which seems like a great initiative but sadly cannot login to the cloud option on desktop and cannot move card orders on mobile. But seems very promising! Was going to try a sideways move with Stacks (not FOSS) but there isn't even a mobile app. This is going to be a tough one!

I always liked that scene in Amelie where it describes one of the favourite things of a character (struggling writer Hipolito I think?) as witnessing bullfighters getting gored by bulls on television - I think I've just developed a similar weird enjoyment in watching robots trip and fall; I don't know why, it just gets me every time. (I don't tend to laugh at the misfortune of humans, so maybe this is my healthy alternative?!)

I have been so uneasy using Atlassian's Trello for quite a while now, and it's frustrating to be unable to find a good alternative that doesn't require self-hosting, that is as customisable and sleek, offers link previews, and is available for both Android and Linux (which Atlassian never bothered to develop a desktop application for anyway afaik). @otfrom @thepeoplestech Ahh hi friend! I cannot deny, I love that *you* are interested. I guess for now it's about those who are indeed interested getting together on Matrix with no pressure to ever be formally involved - but we'll require programmers, facilitators, researchers, administrators, fundraisers, designers, comms, etc with each contributing according to their abilities. It's slow, it's small, it's hopefully sustainable in a "triple bottom line" sense (ugh, I know, sorry!) but also likely to be scalable.

And that's a good question -- we need a minimum of three core UK-based members and currently it's just me and @syhr and possibly one other, and we'd require admin, finance, fundraising, and the actual facilitation and consultation, the latter three (with comms) are something I do but won't be doing them alone, and ideally we'd run a bit of a skills audit early on with those we have interested! (Also, I moved accounts but switched back so lost our connection - I'll follow you now!)
