I continue to track and share that this #COVID19 surge is quite uneven throughout the US, with the South, California, Hawaii, and Alaska as particular hotspots. (There are others, however.) The CDC only tracks COVID hospitalizations in 16 states. Currently, only four of them have rates of COVID hospitalization that are above average: Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and California, which tracks closely with wastewater data. 1/2 https://www.cdc.gov/covid/php/covid-net/index.html

A month ago, I shared that I would no longer maintain my spreadsheet of studies on the long-term risks of #COVID19 infections. While I'm not maintaining it with the same rigor (I used to spend dozens of hours a week beating the bushes for studies), I am still adding studies I run across. Wenn heute viele Ungeimpften behaupten, sie hätten Recht gehabt, liegt das daran, dass sie noch leben. Die gestorbenen Ungeimpften können nicht mehr sagen, dass sie Unrecht hatten. Ich bin mehrfach geimpft und hatte zwei COVID-19-Infektionen mit so gut wie keinen Symptomen. Genau das war das Ziel. Eine Impfung verhindert keine Infektion; sie bereitet das Immunsystem lediglich auf eine Infektion vor, damit das Virus frühzeitig bekämpft werden kann. #covid #COVID19

I played a version of #TrivialPursuit from 1996 this past weekend. One question was, "What is the leading cause of death among adults age 25-44?" This summer's #COVID19 seems poised to continue through August, with risks varying around the US. The Biofire Syndromic dashboard shows the positive rate rising steadily. The WastewaterSCAN dashboard shows the same. Regionally, WastewaterSCAN reports COVID in wastewater: Midwest (35 sewersheds): 45 PMMoV Northeast (25): 55 PMMoV South (62): 86 PMMoV West (74): 59 PMMoV Even within regions, risks are widely varied: In the west, Anchorage is at 489 PMMoV, San Jose at 98 & Sunnyvale at 27. 1/2

1600 comments and counting on Facebook. All on my post about my experiences in the COVID ICU. About 2/3 of them are supportive. About 1/3 are hateful and even threatening. Several of them had to be reported to law enforcement as credible threats. I keep seeing two common comments among the fascist MAGA cult members. One is about the vaccine killing millions of people. The other is about Remdesivir killing billions of people. The same Remdesivir their Lord and Savior Donald Jesus Trump took and called a miracle drug. (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/president-trump-completes-second-dose-of-the-remdesivir-drug) The COVID vaccine that their God Trump took is also in the crosshairs. But didn’t he take credit for creating the vaccine? So he created it but it killed millions and thus it is evil! Even if it were true, that money would have been set by the current federal administration which at the time was Trumps administration. So we are to believe that Trump authorized paying more to hospitals and doctors to lie about the number of COVID deaths? One last claim to look at. No one died of anything but COVID in 2020 and 2021. This is by far the more ignorant of the claims. The CDC itself refutes this as do various state governmental agencies. I have attached to charts below to show that COVID wasn’t even the leading cause of deaths in the USA. Yes, COVID was bad as a single cause and overwhelmed an already strained medical system.
