@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu AIs are considered complex systems, but the underlying algorithms are simple. AIs will simply be changed a bit to dodge the definition in the AI Act.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Tell me that EU, as advertised by Henna Virkkunnen, didn't plan to in-waste 30 billion € in AI data centers. Please be honest.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu One (in)famous use-case of AI is with call-centers and chat bots of various service providers. Do these bots qualify as providing effective and efficient reachability/support in case of technical outages? These bots seem trained to seek the causing factor for problems with the consumer and shift the burden of solving problems heavy-sided to the end of the consumer. I guess we all know the "stuck with tech support and frustrated, so I just accept the problem" feeling.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu You should also regulate that flagging "non-AI" content incorrectly as AI is illegal too. Otherwise everything regardless of it being AI or not will be flagged as AI "just in case" to avoid legal liability. After all at this point we know the game of the us tech giants...

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu when EU will take care of Google monopolistic practicies? There is almost no way to buy Android phone without GoogleMobileServices (GMS) GMS so intrusive that even EU countries GOVs Apps are dependend on them. Same with banking Apps. GooglePay in GMS killed other contactless payment options. The ones that remains are dependent on GMS. I'm so old that I remember when Microsoft was punished for preinstaling InternetExplorer. What Google is doing is worse.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu AI is being used to exponentially massacre innocent people in Palestine, by EU-backed Israel: "(it's) used to manufacture targets so that Israeli military forces can continue to bombard Gaza at an enormous rate, punishing the general Palestinian population." This includes "enabling the systematization of dropping a 2000 lb bomb into a home to kill one person and everybody around them". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI-assisted_targeting_in_the_Gaza_Strip Don't sponsor genocide. End the EU-Israel trade agreement.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu and what about that 30 billion AI giga factory EU tender you just announced 1 week ago? you only address the symptom, not the root cause. "we welcome and finance this very destructive technology but don't worry we'll legally require corporations to put little labels on things that use it ☺️" that's a good step forward but ngl I feel like EU views its citizens as complete imbeciles regarding AI policies. #eupol #aiPolicy #aiPol

@vurk@mastodon.social 2026-08-03 07:54
@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu and yet your top officials spend between 90 and 100% of their meetings with those same #bigtech companies' lobbyists. And then you create these #omnibus #deregulation initiatives to make it easier for them to do what they want. See page 15: https://corporateeurope.org/sites/default/files/2026-03/REPORT_CORPORATE%20CAPTURE.pdf Seems like the only thing preventing you from completely handing over the #EU to #bigTech are those pesky social interest groups you refuse to meet with and meddling citizens concerned about their rights and freedoms.

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu > When AI is actively analysing you, companies must tell you Yeah, because for-profit compagnies are so honest… > Deepfakes and AI text on public interest topics must be visibly labelled Obviously, fascists making up hateful and racist propaganda are going to put "deepfake" labels on their shit… 🤡 If you had spine, you would make this shit such as deep fake or analysing people with bullshit-generators-with-racist bias "intelligence", illegal, not require "to inform people"…

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu These measures are clearly constructive, aiming to curb manipulation (omitted) and support people in making informed choices. The issue arises when only certain players carry this burden, placing them at a distinct disadvantage against the rest of the world. unfortunately, Europe might find itself dealing with the backlash. To be truly fair, rules must apply to everyone or no one at all. Giving your opponent an unfair advantage means accepting a rigged game from the start.
