@xgebi@hachyderm.io @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu this is almost pointless for exactly that reason - it will be left to national enforcement of loose law i.e. mainly looking away. (That said, Ireland's enforcement of privacy rights is not much to brag about. When companies don't respect privacy law, as many based here don't, we almost never take action and the rare triggered action are slow and mere speeding fines when we do.)

@xgebi@hachyderm.io @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Well, then you'll be happy that the enforcement is shared between MS and the EU Commission and it has become fully operational today. Responsible for that is the EU AI Office inside DG CONNECT. And for GPAI models (like large foundation models) the EU has exclusive authority, not the MS. (Full enforcement of these came online today, fines, mandatory evaluations, binding corrective measures.)
