  Note to self: Just don't touch #ipsec. It's shit all way round and always breaks. Just use something else. Why? Every time I want an encrypted tunnel between two public IPs I think like "oh yea, using IPSec here would be easy and straight forward". And then it never fucking works reliably. And if it does work it stops to work the next time you try to apply the exact same config. And it fails with shit like this... What have I done wrong?!? Why work sometimes?? #networking...

  lol encrypted zip files leak metadata. Including the CRC32 checksum, size, and file/folder name. So even without knowing the password I now know that I've exactly the same files elsewhere. #infosec #zip files

  Note to self: Run "sync" before "systemctl reboot"... Something just got killed and I have no idea what. Just hope it wasn't anything LVM cache and/or BTRFS related even though nothing else that accessed the volume was (supposed to be) running anymore. #LVM #Btrfs #systemd #linux

  could it be that when start out with an #dmraid with 4 equal drives in #RAID 5 and then add 4 more similar drives at the same time) later that it'll basically RAID0 each of the drives in the RAID5? (I didn't tell it anything other than lvextend -l 100%FREE, I think. It has been a while. Just wondered why the total capacity is missing two instead of one drive...) Guess it's time to learn how to tell which topology #LVM choose internally from the lvs/pvs/vgs/... tools out...

  Why does the critical-path of my #NixOS startup say that the graphical.target depends on (indirectly) bluetooth device coming up which is apparently being waited for by sound.target which for whatever reason is needed by DNS (systemd-resolved.service). And what is this shit why does apparently my entire system depend on bluetooth.service? What did I misconfigure that #NixOS generated such a shitty dependency graph?!? #Nix #systemd #wtf

  a console tool like filelight but for memory allocations would be great right now. I really would like to know what process is holding onto these 111GB that are still in memory when htop shows not a single process with more than 0 anymore. And even if I go off of what it shows as reserved the most is ovs with 17GB... #NixOS

  Anyone know of a good smart switch that basically looks like a "normal light switch" but does not need a hole in the wall and can be stuck onto of tiles? All "smart switches" (Zigbee or Dect) look like shit. And because I do not want to drill a hole into the wall/tiles I also cannot use a regular switch connected to e.g. a Sonoff or mini smart switch.   Some cable in my PC got loose and is hitting the shittily mounted fan. Or it is the cable tie that got warm and loosened up. As I fixed it in there with cable ties instead of screws as a "good enough for now" solution. Worst part, the copy job still has 2.3 TiB to go and I don't want to interrupt it 😭

  *Note to self* next time portion the dough for the buns in even smaller portions. Even the very last one that after having them rest looked ok-ish in size is basically 1.5 the size it should be now that they're in the oven. The largest one is 2.5 but it also was already kinda 2x in size after resting. #cooking #baking #buns
