When liberals and progressives assert that we can't win if we are 'too far left' they are telling on themselves. What they are really saying is that *they* will permit the far right to win elections if the alternative is a candidate to the left of their comfort zone. If they actually cared about halting fascism, they'd be using their centrist credibility to help mitigate the fear of leftist policies to everyone else. #liberals #leftism #socialism #fascism

@tante@tldr.nettime.org @pluralistic@mamot.fr I agree with a lot of this but I think there is a larger pattern here some of us have been noticing about Cory for a while, namely that he's repeatedly promoted technologies that are harmful. I did not jump on him for his LLM article, I jumped on him because it's the latest in a long line of technologies he has attempted to normalize that are actively harmful to their users and in some cases society. Kagi is the one I keep reminding people...

@tante@tldr.nettime.org @pluralistic@mamot.fr When people point out to him how or why something is a bad idea or a disservice to his readers he typically either argues with the point on a technicality while avoiding the actual problem, or he ignores them entirely. Maybe you just noticed it due to how he disingenuously framed his LLM usage, but for many of us it's the latest in a line of examples and his dishonest defenses of harmful tech.
