#macos27

If you’re like me and trying to get #xscreensaver working on #macos27, this patch may help: https://cdn.redezria.net/xscreensaver-maze-macos27.patch.gz Basically MacOS 27 does some absolutely ass things to the window initialisation/deinitialisation that you have to account for. Thankfully because it’s just the window itself this *should* work on any of the screensavers with a similar edit… I’ve not done that because I only use Maze on my laptop as nothing has ever caught my attention as much before or since 😂 And this was a fun side quest. I can’t help you if you use one of those desktop-image-based screensavers, I would bet there’s some new cursed nightmares down there for you to solve. Good luck I guess!

New #MacOS includes 17GB of #AI slop. There's no opt-out. Hard pass. #MacOS27 #GoldenGate #Apple #Tech https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/09/macos-27-golden-gate-the-ars-technica-review/

All that said, so far Golden Gate actually does feel a little snappier to me than Sequoia. We’ll see how much of that is just clean caches, etc. but no complaints on performance at first blush. #macos #macos27 #goldengate

The new Preview app icon really is jarring. It's like skeuomorphism but for something that's not real. And it really doesn't convey any meaning, let alone something like "preview". Aren't icons supposed to represent concrete ideas? Otherwise isn't it just a texture? #macOS27

. . #Apple #AppleDaily #iOS27 #AppleWatchSeries12 #macOS27 #AppleIntelligence #iPhone #Mac #AppleSports #Cybersecurity #Siri #AppleWatch #FoldableiPhone #TechNews

I took the plunge and updated my Mac to macOS 27. My biggest concern was whether Capture One would work, but luckily everything runs just fine. Since I build the iOS app through Xcode Cloud, I can still ship new Vernissage iOS releases despite being on the beta. I’m still waiting to try Siri AI, but overall my first impressions are very positive. The changes in macOS are great - the whole system feels much more polished and cohesive than the previous version🤩 #macos27 #macosGoldenGate

I wonder which API Battle.net is using. UIScenes are required for iOS 27. What is dropped in 28? Is 28 a bug in this notification?! #askmehowiknow #apple #macos27 Clicking the notification took me to the Rosetta page heh. I thought that as gone in 27?

This default spacing on the Menu Bar in macOS 27 betas are throwing off my OCD! Anyone else seeing this? #macOS27 #macOS27Beta

This is a shortcut for #apple #macOS27 #visionOS27 #iOS27 that will describe what is on the clipboard for a social media alt text of 1500 characters or less. I used the term "blind" in the model description to be as clear as possible to the computer, since it is after all, a computer. This shortcut will replace what is on the clipboard with the description with no feedback, so beware! I am using this until @ivory@tapbots.social supports this natively in the Mac and iOS apps. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/538d79ced3cb403cb0a6bd9e9c8fba99
