@flexghost@mastodon.social I'll watch any edition, but the American Theatrical Release (with the voice-over and happy ending) is the least-good version. But the Final Cut is the best. I actually bought a Blu-ray player when the Ultimate Collector's Edition was released with the five editions. Which means I have the silver briefcase.

@flexghost@mastodon.social Blade Runner Ridley Scott has made so many excellent movies, but this is his best in my mind. The world is so rich and all of the characters are fully-developed. Not to mention the perfect soundtrack by Vangelis. https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/10/2/16375126/blade-runner-future-city-ridley-scott

@plzupgrademe@fedi.txw.ca I concur, the Amtrak burger in the dining car is very tasty. My experience is most of the dining car food is quite good. (There's also a cafe burger which is microwaved, but I've never tried one.)

My area hit over 800 AQI yesterday, and I've decided I won't ride if the AQI is over 300. If it's above 100 I won't ride without a mask, if at all. I regularly wear a KF94 mask indoors, but I've been wanting a reusable/washable mask for biking. I am looking at getting a GATA mask, but there are mixed reviews on it and they're currently sold out of my size. If anyone knows of something along the same line I'd be interested. https://www.gatapack.com #BikeNite

@ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social A8. At the start of my train trip this week at St. Paul, Minnesota Union Depot I saw this bike rack, which seems rather useful due to the spacing of the rings, and it is simple yet artistic. I couldn't take my bicycle on the train trip, but I did bring along a bicycle helmet with the intent of bicycling at my destination of Albuquerque, New Mexico. #BikeNite #cycling

I just discovered the Fediverse (English) Wikipedia page has a huge section on AT Protocol and I question why. It seems like excessive promotion of Bluesky and its protocol that is not compatible with ActivityPub, both technically and in spirit. Illustrating bridging isn't the same as compatibility. Might as well add sections for other random network protocols like XMPP (Jabber). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse #ActivityPub #Fediverse #wikipedia

@tewha@appdot.net SF Symbols is definitely signed. I guess the "is damaged" dialog covers things that aren't obvious, a shame it doesn't give better information.

@tewha@appdot.net I like network printing because the machine can offload the work to the printer right away, but I can see how scanning would be better over USB.

@tewha@appdot.net It does not seem to be fixed. I've been seeing this same issue with some machines, although if I let it sit for a day sometimes it starts doing them regularly again. Also possibly related, I've got a machine where the clock widget will stop updating. I'm wondering if there's some low-level timer on the system that's failing.

@BasicAppleGuy@mastodon.social Aperture. People probably don't realize Adobe Lightroom was created as an answer to Aperture, and Aperture did so many things so well. It was killed off for the lackluster Photos, which still fails on photo management and expects everyone to use iCloud Photos. Aperture was still viable when it got the axe, all it needed was some attention.

@mattiem@mastodon.social This has been on my mind as well. I was on the verge of getting a Vision Pro for development but have put that on hold indefinitely, and I always get the latest MacBook Air for my work but I'm disinclined to do so when the new M4 one comes out. Apple is noted for maintaining their DEI initiatives (so far), so there's that. But going back to Xitter is a hard thing to take.
