We are sharing our #MistakenLyrics for #TuneTuesday. I was a kid in the 1980s, and this song was constantly on the radio. Back then, I swore they were singing "We milked this city." I REFUSED to be corrected by my parents 😂 I blame the poor speakers and the dairy industry influence on my young mind because I don't hear it like that now. The #TuneTuesday prompt for today is #MistakenLyrics and I'm drawing a blank. #tunetuesday #mistakenlyrics i really had to go through the rolodex for this one because i havent thought about this band (or listened to them) for at least 20 years....i also dont have any of my hardcore records anymore so i only had my memory to go on. anyways, the beginning of this song sounds like "it was a puppy dog" and i havent made an effort to find the actual lyrics because i like to think the song is about puppies (which it is not). eyelid - abami https://youtu.be/19BfPj1w9U8

I've heard several mondegreens for different lines in the chorus of Boston's "More Than a Feeling", but mine was always the second line. The correct lyrics are: "It's more than a feeling (More than a feeling) When I hear that old song they used to play (More than a feeling) And I begin dreaming (More than a feeling) 'Til I see Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away" But my brain changed "When I hear that old song they used to play" to "When I heard that old song yesterday". I must have sung it that way for decades before I happened to look at the lyrics. #TuneTuesday #MistakenLyrics I always hated the song "The Ketchup Song (Aserejé)" by Las Ketchup until I learned it's about a guy singing a song passionately but wrong on the dancefloor. It's a nice silly story and we all do it. With my friends it's only a good party if my sister storms the dancefloor singing "whacka maka bone" instead of "rock the microphone" when "Freestyler" by Boomfunk MC is playing. 🤣 Btw the song in Aserejé is "Rapper's Delight" 🤯

Bonus info for #TuneTuesday #JumpUpandDown #Music #MusicHistory "Jump Out of the Fire" (A View to a Kill Demo) (1985) – The earliest rough studio recording and demo version of the official James Bond theme song. Before the lyrics were changed to the iconic line "Dance into the fire," the original chorus line was built around "Jump out of the fire." I do love this song, and have often thought of the lyrics being 'Jump- Into the Fire!' knowing it wasn't.
