The Guardian revealed that the UK Home Office has deliberately obstructed the evacuation of dozens of women and children from the Gaza Strip, contradicting the Foreign Office’s announcement that it was prepared to arrange their departure from the region. Despite the announced coordination to allow eligible families to leave through Jordan, the Home Office has refused to issue the required “subsequent travel assurance” needed to complete the journey. It has also hired several senior lawyers to legally challenge the relocation of these families.
