Hey #GitHub, it's roughly half a year until #FOSDEM. As a reminder, I will disable the #NAT64-based #IPv4 fallback on the default network next year. The default network will be #IPv6-only. I do note that @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de does support IPv6.

Hey @Gina@fosstodon.org et.al, it's roughly half a year until #FOSDEM. As a reminder, I will disable the #NAT64-based #IPv4 fallback on the default network. The default network will be #IPv6-only #Fosstodon is still IPV4-only, so that will be impacted.

Has anyone got a tip for a #nixos version of #tpotce https://github.com/telekom-security/tpotce or similar #tarpit like #honeypot #ids #ips ? How does one easily obtain a suitable #ipv4 & #ipv6 address if one rightly does not want to use one's own?

I’m tinkering with a free #BGP peering service (by own VMs) for hobbyist AS owners, including free upstream connectivity at various locations. It’s still in the early stages, but I’d love to hear what features the community would find most useful. Wondering how and why? With @BoxyBSD@mastodon.bsd.cafe and @BoxedTux@mastodon.social, I’m already running platforms that provide free VPS instances for educational purposes, learning and testing for years now. I guess, providing real AS and peering services (maybe even sponsoring LIR in cooperation [but this would cost money]) could also be very interesting for several ones, apart from the DN42 network. @Arusekk@infosec.exchange I'll be able to go #IPv6 once it's mandatory. Sadly it ain't but in fact many applications mandate #IPv4 to this day…I unsarcastically want #IPv8 (minus the obvious bullshit!) The only reason IPv6 traffic is increasing is propably becaise #MNO|s and #MVNOs still do #CGNAT on #RFC1918 address spaces, thus bricking #VPN|s. This was literally the reason I had to setup #DualStack at some company!

Finally! IPv6 traffic coming into Google exceeded IPv4 traffic last month! https://www.google.com/intl/en/ipv6/statistics.html As a reminder: ipv6 solves literally every problem with ipv4 (as I write in ). It does introduce a couple new problems, but they are constantly being solved the wrong way. #ipv4 #ipv6 #ipv8
