#fosdem2026

What a weekend at FOSDEM 2026! 🙌 Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet the team, try out the Jolla Phone appearance model, and take a look at the latest progress on the community ports. The hands-on feedback on ergonomics and the excitement around the return of The Other Half really meant a lot to us. A special thank you as well to everyone who joined the community meetup at À La Becasse. Good conversations, good company, and a shared passion for Sailfish OS. Seeing so many Birds of a Feather come together in Brussels was a great reminder of what this community is all about. If you want to relive the moments or see more photos from FOSDEM and the meetup, we’ve collected them in this forum thread: 👉 https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/fosdem-2026-sailfish-os-meetup-and-bof/26813/24 You are the heart of Jolla. See you at the next one. ❤️❤️❤️ #FOSDEM2026

Late start to day 2 of #FOSDEM, but the hallway track is the best track. Gonna be listening to the retrocomputing talks, sounds really interesting. I've had such a good time. :) #fosdem #fosdem2026 #opensource #retro #retrocomputing

I'm back home. This was a wonderful day. Very good presentations about the Social Web, lot of chats with @joplinapp@mastodon.social @nextcloud@mastodon.xyz #jenkins @openfoodfacts@mastodon.social and even a quick hello to @elena@aseachange.com. The future is open, social and federated 🌟 #fosdem2026 #fosdem26 #fosdem

The #SailfishOS event tonight *does not* require registration! Just show up at A La Bécasse, and have a beer with us upstairs. See you soon! #Jolla #FOSDEM #FOSDEM2026

Fedimedia.it wooooooooo #fosdem2026

It's not the Fediverse if it's not diverse #fosdem2026

@bortzmeyer@mastodon.gougere.fr overheard at #FOSDEM

“There is a guy who does a lot of work to help the fediverse and to push people toward it. His name is Donald Trump.”

This statement contains multitudes b/c #TruthSocial is a fork of #Mastodon. Initially, $DJT violated the #AGPLv3, but AFAIK they now comply with the license. I examined the fork & they primary code they added was an advertising platform. Obviously it doesn't have federation turned on.

Trying to make the best use of the time in between talks Getting a great sticker and donating as a thank you. #vlc #fosdem #fosdem2026 #floss

On stage now, @django@social.coop — arguing for widespread adoption of ActivityPub client-server (C2S) protocol. I agree with him. At the very least, to make extension of ActivityPub through JSON-LD namespaces possible. But also to decouple Fediverse client development from Fediverse server development. And more. #ActivityPub #FediDev #FediDevs #Fediverse #FOSDEM #FOSDEM2026 #SocialWeb #SocialWebFOSDEM #SocialWebFOSDEM2026

Finally arrived at Bruxelles for #fosdem2026 !!

I'm en route to Brussels! #fosdem2026

Day 2 in Brussels (for this trip). I think I have adjusted enough to the time-zone change that I will be (mostly) awake for FOSDEM 2026 — which takes place this weekend. Tomorrow (Saturday) is the first day of FOSDEM 2026. I will be attending the Social Web track. https://fosdem.org/2026/schedule/track/social-web/ .
