Hey! Starting September 23, I'm teaching a weekly online class in writing comics and graphic novels through the Alexandra Writers' Centre! The class will focus on the writing aspect of comics rather than the drawing, analyzing various ways that a good script brings out the best in the art. We will discuss the elements of a graphic novel script, the different relationships that words and pictures have in a comic’s panels, how to effectively transition the story from panel to panel, and other techniques for producing a story that best fits the comics medium. Whether you want to create a humorous comic strip, an epic adventure, or a deeply personal memoir, this class will get you started. By the end, you'll have the tools to begin your own graphic novel. https://www.alexandrawriters.org/store/p1094/writing-for-comics-and-graphic-novels.html #Comics #GraphicNovel #CreativeWriting #WritingComics #Class #CreativeWritingClass #AlexandraWritersCentre

Hi #ScribesAndMakers ... I am new and introducing myself! I believe I qualify as both a scribe and a maker. I write and publish ecofiction (mine and other people's), am a painter (abstract art inspired by my Reiki practice), and work as an architect in the realm of historic buildings (among other architectural pursuits; heritage is my fave). Just getting ready to publish ecofiction novel #3! I'll share more soon. In the meantime - Goodreads and Studio pages are linked on my bio. Have a great day all! P.S. I'm in British Columbia (BC) Canada. P.P.S. My favourite activity here is #3GoodThings and my favourite person here is @PaulaToThePeople@climatejustice.social, our Climate Justice Social Mastodon admin. :-) #Architecture #Art #BC #Canada #CanLit #CreativeWriting #Ecofiction #Reiki #VisionaryEcoficion #Writing

When fiction is the right choice; when memoir is – Merav Fima on the shifting boundaries of story As writers, we often start with a person, a place, or a haunting piece of history—and assume we know what shape it will take. It seems to be a novel, then we find the material demands the naked honesty of a memoir. Or we try to document a life exactly as it happened, only to… Continue reading When fiction is the right choice; when memoir is – Merav Fima on the shifting boundaries of story… https://nailyournovel.wordpress.com/2026/02/26/when-fiction-is-the-right-choice-when-memoir-is-merav-fima-on-the-shifting-boundaries-of-story/ #Howtowriteabook #authorlife #books #creativewriting #fiction
