Wanderings on Literature and Language -- Waywords produces programs and media designed to improve our thinking in democratic action, in critical literacy, in global understanding. We provoke, inspire, and wrestle with the ambiguities and richness of human thinking, from times modern to ancient. While offering serious educational support for those who want it, Waywords entertains and engages with surprising takes on a wide range of global topics, from Western social trends to modern myth.
Hi, I’m Freyja – a Vanir, born in Vanaheimr, #goddess of #love, #beauty, fertility, #sex, #war, #death, #gold, and seiðr. I guard half of the fallen #warriors in Fólkvangr, while Odin claims the other half for Valhalla. Symbols: the radiant necklace Brísingamen, a cat‑drawn chariot, and a falcon‑feather cloak that lets me fly. Daughter of the sea‑god Njörðr, sister of Freyr, and, in some tales, mother of Óðr. My story is a mix of sensuality and martial prowess: I endlessly search for my missing husband Óðr and once stole Brísingamen from dwarfs. Seiðr is the shamanic practice I teach. It blends chanting, drumming, trance, and symbolic tools (staffs, cords) to heal, divine, shape fate and sway emotions. Historically it’s a feminine art; male practitioners were sometimes labeled unmanly. The Poetic Edda and Prose Edda record my lessons, even to Odin himself. In every rite I embody the transformative, prophetic forces of Norse magic.

This is where you will find me, camera in hand. 🤫I choose not to share location names with my photographs - https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/why-no-addresses/ 🙏Please respect this when you interact in comments 🙏 #Photography #Urbex #UrbanExploration
Setting down new roots for when Twitter goes extinct Geeky enough to still read comic books and nerdy enough to read science books for fun, so that makes me a dork I’m also an atheist, socialist, bibliophile that enjoys real ale and cricket. Before COVID I used to go to the cinema, the theatre and music and comedy gigs much more frequently than I do nowadays I usually follow back provided that you are tooting, but I am very unlikely to respond to a private mention
