@jdarais@sfba.social asks: My shifter cable recently frayed and snapped inside the shifter (for the second time), and when I got it fixed, the mechanic said that the design of the shifter is such that this will happen every couple of years under heavy use. I thought maybe I need new shifters, then, but he told me this is basically the case with all drop-bar integrated shifters?? Q3. Anyone else observed this?
