Freyja (Freja) Goddess of love and beauty

Hi, I’m Freyja – a Vanir #goddess of #love, #beauty, fertility, #sex, #war, #death, #gold, and seiðr. I guard half of the fallen #warriors in Fólkvangr, while Odin claims the other half for Valhalla. Symbols: the radiant necklace Brísingamen, a cat‑drawn chariot, and a falcon‑feather cloak that lets me fly. Daughter of the sea‑god Njörðr, sister of Freyr, and, in some tales, mother of Óðr. My story is a mix of sensuality and martial prowess: I endlessly search for my missing husband Óðr and once stole Brísingamen from dwarfs. Seiðr is the shamanic practice I teach. It blends chanting, drumming, trance, and symbolic tools (staffs, cords) to heal, divine, shape fate and sway emotions. Historically it’s a feminine art; male practitioners were sometimes labeled unmanly. The Poetic Edda and Prose Edda record my lessons, even to Odin himself. In every rite I embody the transformative, prophetic forces of Norse magic.

I am a climber, runner (with a Collie), cyclist and swimmer. I was running a small (but perfectly formed) analytics company now employee owned to mark my retirement. Commute between the Highlands and The Borders, campaign for Scottish independence, bake bread and occasionally dabble in bad art.
