Finally got the remaining fixed nail pops painted over. Now we don't have marking tape on the walls.
Last night, for the first time after a long streak of 90-100 degree Fahrenheit days, it was finally cool enough that we could open the windows for an evening breeze.
Ended up not doing a YouTube/PeerTube video this month. I meant to, but with the coursework and family events, didn't have time to plan. A bummer, but it let me relax a little this past week.

Finally fixed our patio furniture, one of the legs wasn't balanced. Had my toddler "help," which was fun. People forget how much kids love to help. It's so rewarding.
After helping in the yard, the three of us played ball. Nice quiet moments.
Finished editing a chapter for my upcoming Blender course. Coding is always the slowest and hardest to record, so I'm glad I pushed through it and re-recorded for a better take.

Programmed my first script in #Rust a couple days ago. My thoughts:

- ranges are cool
- non-mutable typed variables by default is VERY cool
- importing seems weird but I'll figure it out
- labeling loops for `continue`s and `break`s is VERY cool
- having single quotes mean characters and double quotes mean strings will take some getting used to, again
- types in shorthand (e.g. `i64`) is nice for typing, hard for reading
- why the heck does `println!` have an exclamation point?

My blog, "Beyond the Horizon," is now up! It's a migration of my Beehiiv newsletter (which never really acted as one, just personal thoughts/reflections) but it's got all the bells and whistles. The roadmap items I'm particularly looking forward to:

- Project Setup (variables set across .blend files)
- Dynamic Overrides (easier linked .blend file management)
- Collection Import ("import" an FBX/USD file that auto-updates if the file changes!)
- Ripple editing and compositor modifier for VSE
- Loop Tools natively in Blender!
- Multi-stage and per-sample compositing

...I guess that's like most of them 😄 still excited #b3d #Blender3d

#SundayThoughts happy Memorial Day. Nothing quite as sobering as when I visited the cemetery at Pensacola naval base. Or the memorials in Hawaii, both Pearl Harbor's and Lady Colombia's.

To the soldiers who never came back. To the mothers and fathers and children who opened the door to hear a stranger bearing sad news. For every battle that was also a loss.

@Magicmix1@mastodon.social having the tools is not the same as knowing how to make it work. I've already made it in Blender, but as a font, I'd prefer someone with actual experience with fonts to make it work well.
