When the alternative is dim and not backed by the government it's very hard to "choose" - it builds infrastructure not citizens anymore...
Compare dependency on private cars - I've been in Belgium, France and Netherlands then to the UK, which has the worst "choice" to ditch cars - and it looks like it's impossible to live without it at all.
The AI bulshit is already beyond the computer science and technology
