@q Two journeys, two trains each journey in the last week. One train canceled followed by 30min delay on next. Second journey with 1 hour delay then missed connection and decided to skip next ICE for RE and NS services

The extraordinary salt graduation towers in Ciechocinek. The one on the right is the small one at 360m, in the distance 670m and there's a third of about 700m, almost 1.7km in total length. Made entirely of wood with wooden pegs rather than nails

The only English language channel here is TVP World. It's fascinating and informative to get views on the US-Israel war from other countries. In the UK the media seem too fixated on squabbling domestic politicians

It's odd what you collect and value on a longer trip. These 'disposable' cups were used many times as was the wooden cutlery. Having your own supply of tea, cups and a double-walled bottle of hot water saved spending a lot on your morning tea on the train.

#InterRail isn't just for the young! Worth a try, and watch out for the sales two to three times a year.
Lambus is worth a look for trip planing, especially when there are several people going.

The German ICE and Italian Frecciarossa trains are very comfortable with free entertainment to your device and service to your table in first class - well worth the money if you are travelling quite a bit.
Travelled on Siemens, Stadler, Alstom and Hitachi trains as well as Hungarian ones with a variety of carriage types. It was all electric apart from one short journey across the Hungarian/Serbian border
Back last week from an #InterRail trip of about 5000km from the UK to Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Italy and Switzerland.
Living in eastern England the easiest way to Europe is by ferry from Harwich. Our first day was disrupted by the heavy snow in the Netherlands with hardly any trains running. In Slovenia they had more snow than in the last 15 years.
Happily the rest of the trip went to time and plan
