Guten Morgen aus #Klagenfurt! Heute wieder #Bahnzeit, der letzte #interrail-Tag von 7. Wir nehmen nicht diesen ICE der #DeutschenBahn, sondern warten auf den verspäteten Railjet der #ÖBB auf Gleis 4… So haben wir nur einen Umstieg in #Wien. Drückt uns die Daumen, dass die Verspätung nicht größer wird.

Jag fick hela biljettpriset (platsreservationen) tillbaka från #SJ för förseningen som danskarna orsakat 👍️ Jag har bara rätt till 50%. I kombination med förväntad ersättning från #interrail (€24) och extra kompensation från SJ för det psykiska lidandet att vakna i Danmark så gick jag plus på den etappen. Seit vier Monaten stelle ich GDPR Anfragen an Eurail/Interrail, nachdem diese meine Daten an Cyberkriminelle verloren haben - bisher erfolglos. Die geben meine Daten an Kriminelle, aber nicht an mich. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Habe gerade festgestellt, dass ich seit Jahren einen monothematischen Austausch mit diesem Laden betreibe: 2023 ging es um Sicherheitslücken beim Deutsch-Französischen Frendschaftspass. Schon damals habe ich keine zufriedenstellenden Antworten bekommen. So ein Saftladen. #interrail #cybersecurity

Time for #interrail. I arrived a bit early for the 7:19 to Malmö from my home town main station. There will be quite a few hops until I arrive in Edinburgh on the Caledonian sleeper Thursday morning. It turned out I had failed to buy a seat reservation through Denmark so there will be 3 extra stops now adding up to 9 in total. Switching trains seems to bother many people when I tell them about my travels. I don't really mind. More fun than just sitting in the same train for hours.

I see that it’s still possible to get a paper #Interrail pass. Has anyone tried using one lately? How easy was it to travel with a paper pass? What problems did you encounter? @interrailinfosvenska@mastodonsweden.se @jon@gruene.social @partim@social.tchncs.de @seatsixtyone@mas.to

On the rails again… #Interrail #CrossBorderRail Today @wendy@mendeddrum.org and I are on the well-trodden (sat?) path to home in Barcelona from Karlsruhe. Today’s itinerary: https://moof.space/trips/2026-07-22 I have taken this trip a number of times now, and it’s always bittersweet. Especially the days I leave @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net behind and continue on my own. That being said, once I’ve made my 17 minute change in Strasbourg, it’s smooth sailing. A trip to Lyon, time for lunch, and then the long, comfortable ride in the AVE direct to Barcelona. This has become if not a second home, at least a gentle way to tell my brain that I can switch off travel mode and get ready for being home again. I am always a bit nervous for this Strasbourg change, as a 10 minute delay for this train makes the change of platform very complicated. I was watching the ICE from Stuttgart, that supposedly leaves half an hour before this one, in case it was the better option, but it’s currently at +61. So I picked the right train. Allons-y!

Smidigt byte i Malmö till extratåg. Sovvagnsresenärer får åka i 1 kl. De som skall med nattåget norrut från Stockholm vid 18 får åka snabbtåg. Visar att de som reser med #interrail behöver vara proaktiva och prata med personalen som kanske bara känner till den aktuella sträckan. Bistron är inte öppen än för de har inte hunnit förbereda. Fast detta tågbyte var känt redan igår kväll. Men schemaläggningen kanske havererat när det blir 7-8 timmar försening.

Dags att knyta ihop säcken. Är i väldigt god tid vid Berlin-Lichtenberg för nattåget till Stockholm. SJ:s info är lika undermålig som alltid när det gäller Euronight. Det går tidigare! Nej! Kanske senare! Lite olika info på olika SJ-ställen. Passar på att äta med krokodil-sällskap. #interrail #tågluff #traintravel

Kollar väderprognosen, gör om min #interrail biljett och åker med till Frankfurt (Oder). Blir byten med S-Bahn i Berlin men det funkar

Fördelen med Interrail är att man kan ändra sina planer enkelt. Det är också nackdelen 😅 Bytte tillbaka till ursprungliga planen, åker nu eltåg. Vägen via Frankfurt visade sig ha Ersatzbus. #interrail #tågluff #traintravel

On the rails again… #Interrail Today I’m starting off on a whim. I have once more joined up with @darkphoenix@not.an.evilcyberhacker.net, and we are supposed to be heading over to Stuttgart to meet with @n0toose@chaos.social this afternoon, but as I had time to kill, I was going to sit with them in the DB Lounge. I left my bags (and @wendy@mendeddrum.org) with her, and went out to buy some breakfast in the station, when I spotted an ICE-L pulling into a platform. I decided to head there and take some photos. These are still new, and I’ve only travelled on them once. I saw that it was heading to Bonn as the next stop. I was using up an Interrail day anyway, and so I asked ash if they minded me taking a short trip there and back, and not get her breakfast. Long story short: I am now on my way to Bonn, whilst Wendy is enjoying the Premium Lounge with ash. Today’s itinerary: https://moof.space/trip/2026-07-20 (CW: selfie, eye contact)

It's good to be back on an ICE. Calm, (relatively) quiet, comfortable, and the scenery just passes you by, sometimes at ny00my speeds, sometimes much more sedately. You can listen to music and get lost in a computer, or look out the window at the pretty. Or, I have ADHD, ¿por qué no los dos? Or read a book, or listen to a podcast… This is the ultimate in productive relaxation for me. I definitely see why some people find the lifestyle of sitting on an ICE daily appealing. This is more of a problem if you are trying to get somewhere in some semblance of “on time". Then the anxiety can easily go through the roof, this is DB after all. But if you're not limited by timing... Enjoy it. #Interrail

On the rails again… #Interrail #CrossBorderRail Today @wendy@mendeddrum.org and I are travelling all the way to Köln Hbf. Today’s Itinerary: https://moof.space/trip/2026-07-19 It was supposed to be a 12 hour trip, but DB has already cancelled one of my trains and made it 13. It’s also my first time on a DB Fernverkehr IC Erzatzbus, which I’ll be taking from Frankfurt (the Oder one) to Berlin Hbf. All in all, a long day sat around doing not very much, with at least one very tight connnection in Poznań.
