is not particularly good at updating data It is meant to be particularly good at preserving and distributing data. Thats why the FS came there. So no, you can’t do “live stream”, but “past stream” file you can seed from a home line and it will migrate to the node(s) closest to the subset(s) of recipients. And will stay there as long as the policies say (usually as long as there is a free space for newer content).

IoT devices are not expected to have any external protection. This is a consumer market. We can not expect home owner to provide secure environment before they change old dumb LED-bulb for a new one equipped with BLE, motion sensors and microphones. Whether they use “smart” features of this bulb or not.
Then we have many mandated by law devices that must be put in the car for safety and for national security reasons. A prime example are the direct TPMS sensors. E.g. a hackable TPMS in the tire will not deny our abilities to accurately monitor the good actors movements, but it may afflict our ability to track movements of the bad actors were they able to tamper with emitted by the tire IDs to mimic a secure-facility employee’s car.

If Ed448 is off, and larger NIST curves too, then small cpus over the slow links are toasted at least re authentication. Likely. We need to sit, think, cool down.
And I think that now the threat model assessment will be the most important part of the design procedures. Do we need secure against the gov/corporate adversary of a big country, or small one. Do breach afflict just one site or all users and so on.

Where would it get the protein from? Thats why I said about a gig for the protein who stated that it would be fast and cheap.
Problem is real.
We need to find a way to detect the falsification of survey questionnaires. We can statistically identify the work of a dishonest surveyor, but if that person uses a “silicon sampling” bot, statistical methods will fail. That is why we are starting to record the human hand filling out the paper form, as proof that the pollster actually interviewed various people and did not just made the survey on their sofa casually talking with a bot.

Legally distinct With enough FLOSS contributors as the plaintiff and a few $millions for a good lawyers we as the community can make these guys bankrupt so, possibly after appelation, scammers will be pushed to reopen at an other name.
The FLOSS licensing protection is long gone now. The threshold being imo 2008/9. Since when everybody knows the rich have no legal obligations, nor the poor have legal recourse.

That said, never ever get excited by the slur aka “don’t feed the troll”. Mute, move on.

What is to be misunderstood in the "bulk" word? They stated what laws of their incorporation says.
Privacy does not mean anonymity. Encryption does not mean anonymity.
Encryption provides confidentiality, this is a vessel for privacy. Tech can provide your mail can not be read by their staff if both parties use two-key approach. As this was too hard for the masses, one can now turn this on.
The problem is so many people can not grasp the details. Then the easy and enough-secure provider is magnitude better for the masses than alternatives feeding the monster siliconiacs.
Were Proton started their message with "dear user, remember we are obliged to help law enforcement to know you" this would be as much misunderstood. And prospect non US user would be inclined to choose eg. Apple mail instead. Because "you know, Apple protects their customers".

They advertise confidentiality of the communication and that _only_ between INTERNAL (Proton) accounts. Nothing more, nothing less. Thats what they sell: c-o-n-f-i-d-e-n-t-i-a-l-i-t-y. For people who do not know how to read gnupg manual. All gui, easy to click.
Then using money earned on their email product they provide more services that used properly _allow_ people to stay safe from being targeted way longer than any other service provider – and these they provide free. They explain the possibilities and explain threats. Problem is that many many many way so many people now just does not want to read before they click or tap.
You can stay a bit, for a longer while, anonymous using Proton: you sign up for a free account using their free #vpn built into #vivaldi and never ever log in to this account not using vpn. Very simple.
Not that you can use such account for a malicious public posting. When "imminent threat" is detected, esp. to some #EElite member, anyone on your packet way to the service will act to uncover you. Read the silk road story as a primer.

Like how Apple famously refused … Apple refused protecting their bottom line. Then this iPhone was soon “decrypted by a group of hackers” IIRC. Good PR and not a penny wasted for the 3mo coverage all over the nets. Could Proton not do the same with the request made of them?
- There is no crime-story on the warrant
- Check prices of legal representation in the Switzerland first. For “ultimate plan”/yr sum you can buy a few microseconds of lawyer time.
