Do you have a backstory or something that explains how a comp/con became sentient? My recollection is that they're explicitly not sentient as a general rule. Not trying to say your character can't be however you want them to, just curious. I like the concept a lot and it's making me wish I had people to play Lancer with!

History is much more sympathetic to those and tried but failed to do the right thing than to those who sat back and insisted such an effort was doomed to fail.
The John Browns of history are heroes are martyrs. The people who wagged their fingers and said they should have done things a better way are forgotten as anonymous, ineffectual cowards.
I'm not going anywhere with this other than to say that maybe if there's some crazy thing you want do to make the world better, but you're being held back by fear of how others will perceive you... That fear may be misplaced. It's failure to act that we condemn, not actions that fail.
I think I've recently come to the conclusion that continuing to use the terms "right wing" and "left wing" is actually just a bad and harmful choice of words. It abstracts away where different sets of beliefs actually come from and work towards and replaces them with effectively neutral "both sides" meaninglessness.
Is it just some sort of nostalgia-type bias for The Old Ways, or is there something meaningful at the core of my preference for old, less complex/capable computer components? Like, why do I so strongly reject FPGA-based systems? Are they "cheating"? Is there something wrong with them? Or am I just blinded?

It's time that I just accept that I'm never gonna be able to spell the word "bureaucracy" correctly without looking out up, and that the way I try to spell it is never going to be close enough for the spellchecker to be useful.

A big part of the reason a lot of left-leaning libs get real protective of capitalism and scared of socialism is that they think capitalism means "using money to get the stuff of your choice" and socialism means "someone else decides what you get". Just, like, basic [mis]education shit. We gotta spend some amount of time and energy bringing things back to that level and correcting those mistakes, because the capitalists certainly haven't/won't ever cut back on their commitment to spreading these misconceptions.
