Yesterday I finally launched my migrated new blog. I moved it from slop'py hugo to the Zine SSG. Page: https://lukasrotermund.de Code: https://forgejo.lukasrotermund.de/lrotermund/blog-zine Zine is not yet v1.0, so it's not polished in every aspect. But I had a lot of fun during the migration! The new site is a lot simpler the the hugo blog. No more shortcodes, no more partials, no more themes, no JS. I have to patch a few more things and I have to find a way to add a site map, but all in all I am very happy. I don't like dependency injection. Small Symfony rant. Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive

Today I realized again that I really don't like (PHP) Symfony. When everything works, it's simple. But when some dependency injection (DI) magic doesn't work, and e.g., an injected logger logs into the void instead of to your log management, you suddenly have to be an expert in unshittyfying/ demystifying/ untangling the DI magic. I am stupid, and I like stupid-simple solutions. No magic. No DI. No YAML or XML configs. No attributes on classes, spread everywhere in the codebase. I just want a main function, where I plug everything together myself... Stupid & simple... But it is, what it is... But I will never like it. #Symfony #PHP #DependencyInjection

I have like zero respect left for developers who use LLMs to write or maintain their software. I don't even care for the reasons why they use this unethical piece of... technology. Technology trained on data they don't own. Technology owned and shaped by fascists. Technology that sends its crawlers around the globe to suck every bit they can find to dump their models into big f***ing corp data centers. Data centers that are polluting the air with their big ass gas plants. But hey! "Leave ethics aside". "That's how software development works today!". I'm so sick of this and about everyone supporting this industry. If you feel targeted, you are welcome. I have zero respect for you or your software garbage.
